Muse's Top Ten Live Performances I've seen on YouTube:
1. Stockholm Syndrome at Glastonbury 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryxfVB_MIfA (If you€™ve never seen this before, brace yourself. This is the finale of Muse€™s Glastonbury headline concert in 2004, which, in my opinion, may very well be the greatest live performance in the history of any rock and roll band. Stockholm, which closed the show, was performed beyond amazingly. It€™s raw and intense, yet musically perfect. In fact, this performance was sooo badass, it may have killed Dom Howard€™s (the drummer) dad (he had a fatal heart attack beside the stage at the end of the song). That might be a horrible thing to say, but it might be true. Overall, this performance is legendary, and that€™s why I put it at #1)
2. Showbiz on the French Show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN894yIZFEs (This is the first Muse performance I watched and my head nearly exploded. Fucking intense, out-of-control, and vocally brilliant (plus a funny hat). I still feel sorry for the nice guitar though)
3. Micro Cuts at the Montreux Jazz Festival July 8, 2002 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYCaIN9GEs8 (Most intense performance I've ever seen + Bellamy mimics a guitar riff with his voice. It doesn't get any better than that)
4. Bliss at Pinkpop 2002 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuHDO8EEVes (A seemingly normal (ridiculously awesome) performance of Bliss becomes a guitar playing stunt-show. Such emotion. I get nervous every time I see Bellamy drop the pick)
5. Time is Running Out at Glastonbury 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c8v46RdoE8 (Another great performance from the fantastic show. Bellamy's coat is awesome, his guitar playing is awesome, and his little dance at 3:20 is priceless)
6. Plug In Baby at Reading 2002 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncO5O37fNqQ (Bellamy went nuts on this one, jumping and spinning all over the stage€while playing on guitar).
7. New Born at Kroq 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5lNAUrGJ3k (Not the best performance of New Born they've done, but the amazing guitar solo three and a half minutes in, which is sooo well-implemented into the song, gave me slap-in-the-face goosebumps the first time I heard it)
8. The Small Print at Earls Court 2004 (Day 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiTCGPvtbQ0 (Bellamy going psycho + intense guitar solos)
9. Citizen Erased at Gastonbury 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi20JoUgY4A (As good as Citizen Erased can get. Everything about it is done perfectly. Note: The piano riff at the end is what ended up being €œTake a Bow€, which is also kind of cool, although I think it serves better as a closer for €œCitizen Erased€ than a separate song)
10. Feeling Good on Radio 1 (Spanish TV/Radio) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHEhPyyAlo (This aired on TV somehow. A classic for any Muse fan)
Note: I decided not to put one song on more than once (mainly because of the ridiculous amount of great "Showbiz" performances).
