I was asked to post some of my music in the "Post your picture" thread, so I uploaded a video of us performing live. Anyway, I thought I'd share it in here too.

We covered Goldfinger's version of "More Today than Yesterday" at our gig a couple weeks ago, and... well... here it is:

BXpYTc5UZJU

Like I said in the other thread, I apologize for the messy horns (I'm the trombone player) because I didn't get a chance to practice this song with the saxophonist beforehand so it came out kind of sloppy.

edit:

Here are some new ones from about a week ago. Sounding a bit better, but still needing some work, obviously.

covering Time Bomb by Rancid:

_bHkl5Ipzw4

Yeah, I know I need to work on the solo...

covering Drinkin' for 11 by The Mad Caddies:

Qp4JU-xNh5U

The intro is a bit rough, but it picks up shortly after.

edit: Here's a new one of us playing Take On Me:

_OWRYuZyQic

Unfortunately, the recording didn't pick up the other instruments as much as vocals, so I sound a bit softer than I actually was.

That's it for now. Hopefully I'll have some better video in the nearish future (with better playing on my part, haha), but we'll see.

Well, I disagree with you on the vocalist's abilities.

However, I agree that I sound shitty on that recording. Mostly I like the video because of the audience and how they really get into it.

Video quality is a bit compromised... oh well, I think it sounds good :D

Keep it up, just don't quit right?

Video quality was meh. But it looked like everyone there was having a good time.

The music generally isn't my taste but it sounded like you guys had a cool sound going. I thought the vocalist did a pretty good job. He wasn't amazing or anything but nothing I would complain about. I did notice the trombone was a bit off-time at some parts but that's nothing a little more practice wouldn't fix.

Yeah, it was my first time playing live with them (they've been together for about a year and a half already), so there were a lot of teething issues. I'd only brought my trombone back to Singapore in January and only had two rehearsals before the gig, so it's not surprising that I'm a bit sloppy (not counting the fact that I hadn't played the trombone for about 6 years previous to them asking me join).

lol...I expected that to be a lot better.

Ah well. I never said it was good. However, I don't see much on here for comparison (live performance-wise).

And that means that my band should be good? Or that all of our recordings should be perfect? Yes, my ability to moderate a music forum is directly related to my band's performance. You are quite astute.

Furthermore, I'd love to see a live performance of your band.

I hate the music... although looks like good drunken fun. Keep up the good work, AtrainV.

First post edited with some new videos.

Okay I edited the first post with higher quality, more complete recordings of the two songs from the same gig. Actually, we had a group of students who were recording the gig for a school project, but we probably won't see the fully-edited version of that for another month or so. Maybe at that point I'll upload ones that are actually high quality and not just a little bit better sounding.

The ones I just uploaded also lost a bit of quality in the ripping from facebook and then uploading to youtube process, so they still sound kind of shitty. Oh well.

The Time Bomb cover was pretty good, although the vocals could have used some work. Drinking' for 11 was good, no complaints.
