Get Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Terrorist hunts give you unlimited hours of play.
Far cry 2 looks fun , never played though.

Don't spend money on Farcry 2. It's nothing, NOTHING like the original Farcry. The only things they have in common is that they're both FPS's. Different story, different playstyle, different everything.
Would be okay if it turned out to be a good game. It always boils down to:
-Get objective
-Objective is about 30 minutes of driving away
-End up spending an hour driving because of the controlposts that randomly open fire on you. Believe me, there's a whole lot of these. At first it's meh, after a while they get really annoying.
-Shoot something
-Drive back
There was so much potential for a decent story because of it's original setting, but they didn't fulfill it at all. The game is very, VERY repetitive. It isn't THAT bad, but it's filled with tiny annoyances. Your gun constantly jams. You can never drive more than 10 minutes without needing to stop.
Stay with the original Farcry, it's much better.
To OP: make sure you play Mass Effect 1/2. And Skyrim, ofcourse.
Also, if you haven't played The Witcher, play that too. Get the Enhanced Version.
OP, I recently found myself in this boat as well. Just get all the games. Like... all of them.
Crysis
Batman: Arkham Asylum
S.T.A.L.K.E.R?
I don't know man. Just look up the top 10 or top 25 PC games for every year your computer has been an obsolete piece of trash. That's what I did.

Yeah, definitely get Crysis. It's a good game, it's everything an FPS has to be. The gameplay is very fun, allows for different playstyles, looks absolutely fucking gorgeous (I think it looks better than even most of the games that come out now), some really intense parts too. The story isn't amazing, but it certainly keeps you hooked and interested. It doesn't just look amazing because of the technical aspects, but the island it takes place on just looks so.. alive, lush and vibrant.
Plus, it's been a benchmark for PC's for years. Hell, I think it still is. Cranking it up to MAXIMUM GRAPHICS can still be challenging for a lot of computers.
I loved the game till the very end of it.
Crysis 2 is a piece of trash compared to the first one. Nowhere near as goodlooking, and tries to cater to the Modern Battlecall of Warfield-audience too much. Same gray/brown shades, same typical urban environment etc. Gameplay is dumbed down. Very obviously made for consoles.
In other words, play Crysis and Crysis Warhead, but don't bother with Crysis 2.

Oh, and another suggestion: Magicka.
It's a really fun little timewaster and works in a very original way. The game is in isometric view. You are a wizard, and have control over 8 elements. You can combine up to five of those elements in a spell and there is a HUGE amount of combinations to make. The way it works is a bit too much to explain, but rest assured that it's fun, especially in multiplayer mode.
It's made by some indie developer from Sweden and the game is only ten bucks or so. Also has a very nice touch of humour in it too. It's a nice change from all the FPS-games or hardcore RPG's and what not.
