Nope. You need the microsoft one. You COULD buy the wireless adapter for the original xbox and save about 50 bucks.
my advice: USE ETHERNET CABLES!

Damn, those greedy fucks. I'm gonna have to use the cable, even though it looks slightly messy, it sure as hell doesn't cost 100 bucks.

It works a lot better also. Wireless=laggy. Ethernet cables should have been your first choice and wireless if your way far the internet source.

Not only is using a cable cheaper, but it is WAY more reliable and faster in many ways.

I've seen an adapter that allow you to use any USB drive or USB hdd for data storage, but I have yet to see an adapter allowing you to use any Wireless Adapter with the 360. Regardless, when I can use cable, I will use cable (hell even a 50ft CAT5 cable would only run you maybe $40).

Wifi is absolute shit man. The only thing I ever use Wifi for is for the IR barcode scanner guns. And considering the fact that my house isn't a UPS depot, that means never.

Try transferring 8 gig of random files over wifi, with decent wpa encryption. Over your every day regular in-house 100Mbit ethernet, it'll complete in about 20 minutes, to half an hour. Wifi will consume between 3 and 4 hours, if it even completes. Considering the fact that most wifi equipment for consumers equals cowshit, your ap/router/gateway/cowturd is likey to just freeze depending on what protocol you're using to transfer the files.

My computer has a wireless network adapter, and it's been stable as shit, with good speed. I already had a 50 foot cable i just didn't want it strung throughout the house.

You must have a shitty wifi network then, no offense. This doesn't happen that drastically with me. It's definitely slower, but not nearly that bad!

You just don't use yours for anything. How many clients connect to your ap? Is your ap integrated with a gateway & switch? Just do some real work over it and you'll see what happens. Like, use a few different bittorrent clients at the same time, try some video chatting, run a small server, etc. The companies all claim you shouldn't have any problems doing any of that. Well, you do. Just forwarding a bunch of ports and then letting loose a few bittorent clients with some serious traffic is bound to crash most wifi routers for some reasons. Linksys is one of the biggest fuckups in this area, but the other ones aren't immune. Like, they all claim how you can connect what? 25 clients? Some even claim you can connect 100 clients wirelessly. Ever tried doing that with a $50 Linksys wifi router? Epic fail.

You could always install some custom firmware to fix most of that, but then there is still the speed limits, not to mention range.

I didn't read the article (because I don't have a 360) but I do remember seeing something in a magazine, I think it was Popular Science, where you could make your 360 wireless for under $20 (maybe even free, I don't recall).

What the fuck are you people talking about. I have 0 latency with my wireless adapter. If you live up the street from where your playing, or live in a mansion/hotel, then you lagg.
If you have lagg issues its prob from your shitty $20 router or everyone in your house d/l porn constantly.

I think I saw on instructables someone using a laptop as a wireless connection for an xbox 360.

I completely agree with snoopy, wireless in the home sucks ass.

Cable is great, but there's also DD-WRT sometimes.

I don't think you've ever used a wired connection. The transfer speed of wifi IEEE 802.11g is about 10 times slower than the speed of my cable modem. So if I was to use wifi, I'd only be using 10% of what I'm paying for. Silly, is it not?

Gigabit lan or no lan.
