Actually, it's still proven to take longer to decipher on the readers end. Sort of like texting. It's quicker for the person sending it, but it takes a couple of seconds longer for the reader to decipher it than they would for words spelt properly.

Also, it shows that you give a shit about what you're saying. If it's important to you that readers focus on what you're saying, and not how you say it, you should make sure your post isn't a grammatical tangle or rife with poor spelling. Moreover, there's a lot of people that use post quality as a judge of poster quality. It's not always accurate, but that's not going to stop a lot of people from assuming you're an idiot for making unintelligible posts.
