Harmonica players?

Yo ho
Today I picked up my first harmonica, and I would very much like to learn it. I've always liked the sound of it, but figured that I had enough on my hands learning guitar and all. But I decided that playing guitar wasn't for me, I've had one for a long time and am going nowhere with it, so I decided, spur of the moment, that I'd buy a harmonica.
If I practice every day for, say, half an hour or maybe even more, how much do you think I could learn until the middle of June? Just asking because that is when I'm going to France for a month, and am going to need all the money I can get(thinking of playing in the streets/busking).
How hard or easy is it to progress? I realise that it isn't as easy as it seems and everyone thinks it to be, but not much more than that...

You really think playing harmonica is a good way to panhandle?
It's not very hard to learn, but it's not easy at all. Inhaling and exhaling in time, putting your mouth the right way to cover specifically what you want to hit.
Eh. Just give it a shot and figure it out. It's a pretty simple instrument.

Well, since I'll be on the road for more than a month and will be carrying a tent and sleeping bag as well as everything else, I can't be lugging around a guitar or even something smaller like a balalaika. I realise harmonica playing won't earn me too much money, but something is better than nothing.

And yeah, I realise that if I'll want to play blues pieces - that is, improvise, and not just play melodies, then I have alot of learning to do... But I'm ready to do it. :)

its easier tostart off playing simple songs, like mary had a little lamb, and like folk songs and such.

Don't try and learn the harmonica by 'improvising', What I mean is don't just like play shit you made up on the spot, it may sound good, but you aren't really learning anything. You need to learn how to make the harmonica play the note that you want to make, not just make random notes. (if that makes sense), which is why you should start with easy songs.

Also play songs that start off in the same key as your harmonica.
