most of the stuff i have makes me look fatter, because i use to try to hide my body shape under baggy t-shirts and hoodies. i need to work with the body i have for the moment, instead of hiding it.

what items of clothing do you know of that suit fat people? (no moo-moos).

man... I know it sounds like a bad idea... but pics would probably help. The ultimate answer to your thread title tends to be "conservatively". Things that fit well, not baggy, and not so tight that your pants are pinching when you walk or whatever. I've always found that button up shirts look good on anyone who isn't rail thin, and can be better fitted than most o.0

How about you make your self thin? Lulz.

Else anything black. Black polos will help you not look so fat, as they are both sturdier material wise, which kinda hides your shape alittle and black at the same time, which is ofcourse slimming

It doesn't matter what you wear. Fat people should stay inside and not be seen

Just wear business shirts and pants. You will still look fat, but at least it will look like you are doing something with your life. Also avoid the cliche underarm stains and mustard spills.

Don't try to hide your body with a lot of really baggy clothes; it will only make you look bigger than you actually are. Conversely, don't do like a lot of people (usually girls) do and try to cram yourself into tighter clothing hoping it will slim you down.

You should invest in a good pair of pants. Look for a good fit: it should follow your form but not cling to it. A nice pair of khakis or some good jeans will go a long way. Avoid jeans with a very narrow leg, obviously, and try boot cut instead; it's almost universally flattering. A good pair of pants will balance out your proportions, which is a very good thing.

On top, you should try to avoid really loose/thin fabrics like t-shirt cotton and jersey as they tend to billow and bunch and get unflattering in general. Simple knit sweaters look great on everyone, especially bigger guys, as do button-up shirts. Structured jackets with strong shoulders are also quite flattering as they emphasize your shoulders, arms, and chest rather than the midsection. Vertical stripes are great, and obviously horizontal ones should be avoided.

But really, the most important thing you can do is try things on and see how they fit. Comfortable, well-fitting clothes suit everyone.

In kno rite? Like so many heavy gentlemen you want a suit that shows off your hard earned curves and accentuates your supreme fatness. Start off with bowtie, to show that your fat was earned at only the best Parisian eateries. As for shirt, I recommend horizontal stripes, which call attention to your majestic midriff region, and tight-fitting pants, to exaggerate your torso and highlight your magnificent folds of leg-fat. Naturally white socks and black formal shoes will complete the outfit.

What do you feel comfortable in? Wear that...

I'm a bit on the chubby side at the moment, seems that if I wear shirts that just 'fit' and nice pants (into black pinstripes at the moment - I usually wear cream colored trousers or really worn in jeans frayed at the shoes creating their own "boot cut :p ) I look successful and have money to spend on food and fine beer haha, also doesn't make me look as much as a slob.

Good luck man, fuck everyone else for joking.

Generally, tailored clothing looks nicest on larger frames. That is, woven (not knit - too clingy) with appropriate cut and/or darts. Silver gave good advice.

On men, woven shirts w/ vertical stripes (which happen to be pretty hot right now) untucked look good.

Never go too tight - on women same thing - woven fabrics tend to look nicest. Don't go for super low rise - it's better to compromise fashion to avoid the belly-over-pants look.

How about you wear some work-out clothes and take care of the root cause of the issue?

I usually wear a button up shirt, with an under shirt, and a pair of jeans cause it's comfy and you blend in with the crowds. Just wear something which will hide your form, but make sure the shirts/pants are too baggy or you look 10x bigger. And please, for the love of dogs, dont wear one of those homosexual hats, with shorts and a shirt and flipflops(thongs).

I would need to see a pic to be able to give an accurate response. Fat isn't always fat, well, sometimes.

Theres always room for improvement. Start swimming. Search for the NASA study on Phelps and weight loss. Cold water...
