Oh no, we're very well aware of them, it's just that we're able to rationalize that marrying a dog doesn't mean you're impervious to damage caused by a tiger, that's all...
Feel free to disagree, but if you do, I sure would like an explanation on how being married to a dog will prevent you from being killed by a tiger.
So far, all I've got is "according to tribal tradition", and that my friend, can hardly be considered any type of proof or explanation, no matter how you look at it.:)

But ok, I might be a bit biased, as I've come across other "tribal traditions", that included mutilating your wife with acid, cutting off perfectly good body parts, burning people alive, imprisoning or lynching people for "witchcraft", executing people by stoning for something that isn't even considered a misdemeanor in the free world, and so on and so forth.
I don't see myself as ignorant to cultural differences, but some of the "tribal traditions" followed in some parts of the world, are downright disgusting and should be abolished as fast as possible, in the name of common fucking decency.

And that's perfectly fine by me, but if they've convinced themselves that it has any other effect than giving them a sense of security, however false I may think it is, I'd suggest they also employ common sense, as that's quite a lot more effective for keeping you safe, I'll assume we can agree on that.
