Powdered Toast Man please

so in my english class we got these laptops. they are very gay in the way that everything fun is locked down. they have websense for inappropriate shit but all we can use is IE and i think they made it so that IE "cant find" half of the shit they dont block some how... (like mp3int.com)
it let me download limewire, but it wont let me install it. it wont let me change the background either. and they disabled right clicking
so are their some ways to get around this stuff? im really looking for any info on how to "gain some power" on that computer. like it has this finger print scanner i want to use, but they have it "blocked" or something. (im not sure if thats the right word)
anyway, i would at least like to change the background. and download firefox...

get a flash drive and install this http://portableapps.com/
i use firefox all the time at school with this. secondly you can get rid of the admin password if its xp by using this http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
good luck!

This guy's got it.
Also, I've found that whenever I try installing apps on school/college computers, changing the install directory from Program Files to My Documents often does the trick.

Get a windows credit dumping utility.
Dump local passwords.
Take home.
Crack.
Next day log in as local administrator.
Configure to look like a networked student.
???
Profit.

You could put a live linux distro on a usb drive

You could focus more on paying attention in school, getting good marks, and hopefully end up at a good college. Instead of trying to cause trouble and get around the filters to look up porn and such.
Also, it's not your computer. You shouldn't be installing stuff and filling it with crap like you would your own.

websense is a school filter. can't be bypassed except with proxies.... i used to just put nintendo emulators on a flash drive.. i got bored of the games right around the time class was over. but instead of doing something you can do at home why don't you take advantage of being at school and learn something and/or socialize?

I know for Websense you can set up an SSH tunnel at home and connect to it from the school computer. Also, if for some reason they didn't password protect the admin account, you can just boot into safe mode and get in that way.

Yo dawg you need to be logged onto an administrative account to dump passwords (at least for pwdump).
Download a Linux distribution that lets you boot from disc (Ubuntu, Puppy Linux, etc). Burn that to a CD.
On the laptop, boot from the CD. Copy the SAM file to a USB drive. Bring that baby home and crack away. You'll need to use something like Ophcrack or John the Ripper along with some rainbow tables. Alternatively, you can enter the lm hash on this site (http://www.lmcrack.com) and it'll crack it for you in a few hours.
Also, ophcrack also comes in Live CD (http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php) form so you can just boot from that. I've never used it though.
If LM hashes have been disabled (or the password is really long), you'll be left with an NT hash. NT hashes are more secure. Ergo, the rainbow tables for NT hashes will be much larger and it'll be more time consuming to crack.
I know for Websense you can set up an SSH tunnel at home and connect to it from the school computer.
I recommend this. Alternatively, you can use something like Tor or configure your Internet browser to connect through a proxy server.
Can you write to the laptop's hard drive? If not, the hard drive might have software like Deep Freeze (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Freeze_(software)) installed on it. Look on the system tray for a bear (http://img.chuchvara.co.ua/DeepFreeze.jpg). If you're lucky the password for Deep Freeze will be exactly the same as the administrative passwords.
You don't really need to crack Deep Freeze. Just carry all your stuff on a USB drive.

Or... you could use this amazingly easy trick. It miraculously worked at my school so I guess the tech department epic fails. Anyway... go home, search for "command.com." Windows XP has two different command lines, command.com, the legacy command interpreter, and cmd.exe, the new NT command interpreter. My school only blocked access to cmd.exe, so when I tried to run command.com off my flash drive, I got an unlocked command prompt. Believe it or not, all I had to do from there was type "net user admin password" which changed the password for the user "admin" to "password." Then I logged in as the administrator and I was like

Don't use limewire, it sucks horse balls.
I get the feeling that this guy doesn't know anything about computers...
If you really want to be cool, you need to get FULL permissions. Using a proxy, changing the install directory or changing the password does not make you 'cool'.
