I'm not going to say what my weight is, but I'm not too happy with it. It may not seem that bad now, but it's slowly getting worse and It's mainly just because of how much I eat. It's not really that much unhealthy food either, a lot of fruits and vegetables, but also a lot of bread and other stuff made from grain. I'm looking for maybe an herb or something that acts as an appetite suppressant. For breakfast I usually have one of the Slimfast Optima which has one in it, and that seems to help but only for the morning, and I don't think I can live off those.

I guess I could become bulimic, but that would be a waste of food... ;)

Anyway, yeah, just any suggestions for some kind of gentle appetite suppressant or something so I don't gain any more weight than I already have.

i don't think slimfast optima has an appetite suppressant in it. i think they use more protein or something to make you feel full longer..... i could be wrong. but i used to drink it, i don't seem to remember there being any type of herb or special drug in it

have you tried using hoodia?

I was gonna recommend cocaine or amp's but then I'd get infracted, so I'll just tell you not to use substances for weightloss because it can and will lead to worse things in the long run.

Fuck appetite suppressants, start weight training.
You'll start getting sick of food, trust me, because to get stronger you'll need A LOT of food, protein and fat.
Oh, cut out the grain and sugar, do some research on the Paleo diet. (what our ancestors in the Paleolithic period used to eat)
After you do some research, if you like what you see, you can get started.
You'll feel better about yourself, too.

Win/win.

Paleo diet.

Also an effective method for saving on toliet paper.

Seriously, try adding cinnamon and cayenne pepper to your food.

Green tea helps too. If I feel the need to lose some weight quickly, I'll use 4 bags of green tea (buy the cheap bulk tea). Pour about 2qts of water thats been boiled then cooled just below the boiling point. Leave the tea bags in it and drink it throughout the day. Probably not healthy in such large amounts, but it works.

You're a fatass because your diet is entirely carbs; sugar. Give the ketogenic diet a try.

Nicotine.

Or a long run.

Increase your protein consumption, and some insoluble fiber. All that bread is making you hungry, and fucking with your blood glucose levels. Drink more water, some people will eat when they are actually just dehydrated. Start the weight training like master killer said, does work.
I also like the green tea idea. Going to try that soon.

If your looking for supplements, which I recommend after trying all of the above, try something with hoodia extract. I have been having some great results with Recreate by USPLabs. Don't just start out with this, would be a bad idea. I started using it after 2 months on the Paleo diet and doing Crossfit workouts, just to add an edge to the good fat loss I was having.

Oh, try splitting your meals up into six small ones instead of the normal 3 a day. Kinda graze through out the day. I really like this, I can munch on any little thing I want all day.

What do you do for regular exercise at the moment?
I ask because working out to get into shape is a whole lot more fun and beneficial than just dieting. Doing fad diets and taking diet drugs will fuck with your metabolism and so won't help you in the long run like exercise will.

Eat more protein/fiber in the morning. try a cereal with at least 6-8 grams of protein and fiber in it. Eggs are good too, as long as you don't eat them every day.

Yeast makes you want to eat more.

Drink the slimfast right before you eat so you eat less.

I walk a lot, and throughout the day I end up climbing a lot of stairs. Right now I'm actually supposed to be avoiding exercise because of hypotension (yeah, my doctors are telling me to do the opposite of most people, don't exercise too hard, eat more salt...).

I'll try eating more protein and insoluble fiber, that makes sense. And drinking a lot of water. Also, my average lunch consists of a sandwich made with winter wheat bread, turkey, spinach, and a little bit of light miracle whip. So when I say bread, it's a better kind than just wonderbread. I guess I'm not eating food that's that bad, I just eat a lot of it.
Anyway, hopefully eating more protein and fiber and drinking more water will help me to feel fuller. Thanks.

Yeah, well, thats because most people can't tell the difference between hypo and hyper.

It's certainly right that people with hypertension should not exercise too vigorously, but moderate intensity exercise is very helpful for lowering blood pressure. A 30min brisk walk on most days of the week coupled with resistance training would be great, although I would recommend getting a heart rate monitor to make sure you keep you hearth rate within 70%-80% of your maximum heart rate, and if you have hypertension then you should always cool down properly.

Oops, yeah, I was talking about hypERtension there (blood pressure too high).
I thought that was what you were meaning to say instead of hypOtension, so just ignore my post if you do actually have problems with low blood pressure!

EDIT: Thinking about it though, I would have thought that since moderate, aerobic exercise is good for regulating blood flow it would help with hypotension as well. Can anyone confirm this?

Heh, that's alright. It's easy to make that mistake.

And in general, yes, exercise is good during the actual activity, but afterwards it can make blood pressure drop even lower. Considering I have issues with syncope because of that, vigorous exercise just isn't the best idea right now. I just stick to walking.

I find coffee slows my hunger.
It will typically raise my heart rate and blood pressure a bit, too.
I guess caffeinated tea would be similar, though I seldom drink it.

Like you've experienced, the danger of exercise and hypotension occurs post workout, when your blood vessels are dilated from increased body temp and exercise metabolites, like lactic acid.
Bigger pipes means lower pressure.
Plus, veins have passive one-way valves that require body movement to massage blood back to the heart.
If you stand still post exercise, gravity can cause excess pooling of blood in your lower extremities which can lead to insufficient blood to the brain and subsequent fainting.
If you keep doing a decent cooldown walk and arm swing, (pumping your limbs) this problem should be minimized.
With hypotension problems, your cooldown may take longer than typical.
But if you're young, avoiding vigorous exercise doesn't seem like a plan you should employ for the rest of your life.
