I figured this game out when I was 11/12... My brother played it when he was 10 and he figured it out. :/
It took awhile for me to beat the water temple because one of the little places you have to change the water level is, for some reason, in a place I can't EVER remember how to get to in the beginning... :|
I say, grab a gamefaq.

lol, maybe the game seems harder when high, me and a few friends are playing the game through and almost all the time were baked, so things might seem harder, but ya, the water level raising is definitally a fucking pain in the ass

Yeah, water temple was a bitch until you get the Longshot. The Dark Link battle was pretty fun, too.
I also disliked the shadow temple during the parts you had to use that magic lense to see invisible stuff, but the final boss was very entertaining to beat though.

I remember one time I got bored and decided to play the game with only 3 hearts, one bottle, and no giant's knife, lens of truth, Din's Fire, Nayru's Love, or Farore's Wind.
It had it's difficult moments, especially trying to navigate to the Desert Colossus without the lens of truth, but overall it was a pretty fulfilling play through of the game.
At the time it's all me and my bro really had to play, so after having played it close to 12 million times we were trying to come up with some new ways to keep the game fresh.

I never figured out the game once you became an adult. All I would do it go fight the zombies that are roaming around.

I never really enjoyed the game at all, to be honest. I remember when I was young when I would just look at the screenshots of the game for hours in Nintendo Power, but by the time I played it I really didn't enjoy it at all. I've never enjoyed a 3D Zelda game, not sure why.

The water temple wasn't that hard, I found the fire temple MUCH harder.

I dont understand what everyones problem with the water temple is. Its easy enough, just a bit tedious. Just start at the bottom and work your way through the rooms on each level.
I've played this game a ridiculous number of times. Last time I was bored so I took the uber challenge. Restrictions are as follows:
-3 hearts, no Heart Pieces whatsoever
-Buy Giant's Knife and break it ASAP, and use that at all times (except in the
Graveyard and while fighting Ganon)
-All Medallions
-1 Bottle
-No deaths (death counter at file select must say 000)
-No Iron Boots
-No capacity upgrades
-No Great Fairy gifts except Magic Meter and Din's Fire
-No Gold Skulltula family gifts from 20 or more Gold Skulltulas
-No Goron Bracelet
-No Fire Arrows
-No Lens of Truth
-No Longshot
-No Silver Scale
-No Zora Tunic
-No Gerudo's Card
-No Maps or Compasses
-No Biggoron's Sword
-Cannot use Action Replay, Gameshark, etc.
-Cannot use Crooked Cartridge (touching your game cartridge while playing)
-Cannot use Din's Fire outside the central room of the Water Temple
-Cannot use Megaton Hammer to attack enemies (exception of stunning Volvagia)
-Cannot use Megaton Hammer outside the Fire Temple
-Cannot use Deku Sticks to attack enemies
-Cannot use power crouch stab
-Cannot use bottle except to show Ruto's Letter to King Zora
-Cannot learn any songs except Song of Time, Zelda's Lullaby, and Minuet of
Forest
-Must have Shadow Medallion before entering Forest Temple
-Must fight Dark Link
-No shield, except for when required for a particular glitch
I got up to trying to get into the shadow temple before getting fustrated with it, taking a break, and losing access to the 64 I was playing it on.

I agree. I guess I'm not intelligent, but it always took me weeks to figure out what order to do things and what I had to do in the dugeons. I honestly don't like the 3D Zelda games at all. At the time, Mario 64 and Goldeneye where much better options to me.

Doing some of the bugs to clear the game that way are fucking hard. And reaching the spirit temple with no lens of truth is also a bitch. I never completed that challenge :( It takes like fifteen minutes to kill the Boss at the Shadow Temple with the broken sword lol.

Man, I have played so much OoT.... I want Majora's Mask for Virtual Console. I have it for 64, but the 64 controller sucks a lot more than the GC controller or classic controller.

I did beat it when i was 10.
And the water temple isn't too hard, it's just repetitive as hell (mainly due the water controlling thing), Dark Link is the hardest thing of the temple, and if you used din's fire it wasn't too hard.
Still, nothing will beat in repetitiveness as the earth temple of wind waker, I had fucking nightmares with the damned Command Melody.
P.S.: I see you talk about using the Giant's Knife a lot, ¿You got the biggoron sword, didn't you?

Game was the epicness of nintendo. Most likely still is the epicness and greatest work of nintendo.
They need to make an expansion for OoT. Like i want a zelda game that lasts for 50+ hours. I cleared out twilight princess in 24 hours.
And i never knew that the number on the left was a death meter lol.
Also I never knew of any like glitch things that would allow you to get through some of the stuff that DarkMage was referring to. How would you be able to beat some of the places with no iron boots and water tunic? Makes no sense. Anyone care to give examples? :D

Anyone else have the soundtrack to this game? Maybe it's just me but whenever I'm feeling down, I just play some old OoT music like the Lost Forest Song or Kakariko Village song and I instantly feel 1000x Better :D
God damn, what a great game.

The game isn't that hard, I do have a bit of trouble with the water temple though, probably takes me longer than any other temple to remember where shit is and how to get there.
I found Majora's Mask to be much fucking harder, the stone tower temple and great bay temple always fuck me up something bad. I might have to get out my 64 and play through Majora's Mask again some day.
