I filed my taxes online the other day, and I'm supposed to be gettin $1600 back. Then I got an email saying that it was rejected because the amount that I made in 2007 didn't match what I said I made. So I asked my mom for my 2007 tax information, and she gave it to me 2 days later, after she had filed her taxes. Now I'm only getting $1300 back because she claimed me as a dependant even though she shouldn't have because I made over $3000 last year.
Not only that, I'm also not getting any financial aid this semester because she won't give me her W2 from 2007 and my school won't process my FAFSA without it. I was planning on using my refund check to pay for my tuition, which coincidentally is also $1,600, but now I have to pay $300 of it on my own.
...Which leads to my next point. I started classes 2 weeks late this semester because I had holds on my account because she didn't sign my FAFSA, and I ended up having to register on the last day they let you because I couldn't get my transcripts from my old school until everything was taken care of. Since I've already missed the first 2 weeks of class, I can't afford to miss any classes at all this semester.
I was about to go to my Wednesday evening class for the first time (this was the 3rd week of the class), and when I went to leave, my car was gone and my mom's was in the driveway. Of course she didn't leave her car keys, so I couldn't take hers. My boyfriend was going to take me to class, but my schedule, books, and notebook were all in my car, so even if he did take me, I would have been late and unprepared and wouldn't have even known what classroom to go to. Anyways, I called her and left her a message asking her in a polite yet nasty and dripping with hate way to let me know in the future if she's going to take my car so I can find another way to get to school and I can get my books out of my car.
She called me back 2 hours later and said that 1) I wasn't in school (bullshit), 2) She had told me that she was taking my car (bullshit), 3) That she had asked me if I had anything to do that night and I told her no (bullshit). I hadn't even said one word to her while she was there, and all she did was ask me if I was working that night, not if I had anything to do.
When she got home, she called me and left me another message (face-to-face conversations are below her standards ) saying that she knew damn well that I wasn't in school and that I was lying and just saying that because I wanted to go see my boyfriend but I couldn't because she had my car and that I hadn't spent any money on books, let alone the $200 that I told her I had spent.
I went into her room with my schedule and receipt for my books and showed them to her. Did I get an apology? Of course not. Instead, she said it was my fault because I called her instead of text messaging her, because she could have seen and responded to a text message right away, but she can't check her voicemail while she's at work.
I then asked her for her tax information for my FAFSA(she still hadn't given me anything at this point), and she accused me (once again) of stealing it and hiding it from her. I told her that I neede $1,600 then because she's always saying how she pays for my school and supports me and I couldn't get any financial aid or even loans without her tax information. Then she suddenly found it even though she had supposedly been looking for it for about 2 weeks at that point. Even then, she accused me of hiding it from her in her own fucking room! She said that I had purposely covered it with books so she couldn't find it.
I ended up having to drop the Wednesday night class, and of course it was too late to get a refund, so I wasted over $500 for nothing, and I still can't even get any financial aid to pay for it.
