I'm gonna go see this today. I hardly even paid attention to the ads I saw for it, but after I noticed the good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, I decided I should go see it. Apparently it's just balls to the walls violence and action in the vein of the Dawn of the Dead remake or the TCM remake (both of which I loved in theaters).

Plus, I haven't seen a 3D movie in about 10 years, so...this should be fun.

I drove three towns over to see it last night, listening to Howard Stern hype it up on the drive over only to find that it was showing in 2-D.

I'll be the first to admit that the 3D parts where kick ass, but if you went in there looking for anything beyond seeing a softcore porn/slasher flick, you would be disappointed. I went in knowing it would be shitty yet fun to watch and so I enjoyed it.

Just got back from it; it was enjoyable. I'd basically describe it as a good, extra-violent, extra-badass Friday the 13th movie. My only complaint would be the "twist". The killer's idenitty was blantantly obvious to anyone paying attention, so they actually had to directly lie to the audience to try to make it mysterious. Ironically, if the killer was someone else, that would have actually been a pretty effective twist. The killer, by the way, was badass. When he set his sights on someone, they got owned HARD.

The 3D was pretty cool, though not what I had been expecting. I thought that we'd see things coming out right in front of our faces (like the stuff they have at Disney or Universal Studios), but instead it mostly just added depth to what was on the screen. There were a few cool "it's coming right at you" moments, but not what I had been hoping for, per se.

But yeah, it was a good time. You don't really get movies like these very often in theaters anymore...Now it's all about crappy ghost movies and torture porn it seems.

I'm looking forward to seeing it on DVD when it filters down to the 99 cent section in Blockbusters.

Not exactly Citizen Kane, but it sounds entertaining.
