Im a musician, listen to Victor wooten, cd soul circus if you listen close to all the soungs it can teach you how to play better.

Also check out Lesclaypool any cd is good from primus to whales of woe....listen and get ideas on how to advance.

i always try checking out mars voltas new stuff, but it always never as good as the first or second album.. I stopped bothering after the fourth one.

I know what you mean man. Check out the EP... A Missing Chromosome I think it's called. It's no Frances the Mute or Deloused... but I prefer it to their newer stuff. Not that I don't like their new stuff, it's just not the same.

I don't consider myself a musician, as I have a hard time translating standard notation to finger movements on my guitar. I just call myself a guitarist.
Also, I love Oh, Sleeper. When I Am God was better than Son Of The Morning, but there's still some amazing stuff there, too.
The other bands... eh.
