I've always bought electric elixer coated strings for both my electric and acoustic guitar, I'm getting new ones tomorrow and I'm wondering should I get acoustic strings or stick with electric? I've always liked the feel of electric strings and I have yet to try the acoustic so I'm wondering which ones will sound and play better. Thanks.

I fucking love super light electric strings on an acoustic.
fret action, (I think that's what it's called) is so light and easy. I don't really like hard acoustic strings but if it's the only thing around, I'm on it.

get acoustic strings, i find the tone of electric strings on an acoustic is flat and becomes flatter very quickly, good acoustic strings will give you a warm/bright tone that will last much longer.

Elixirs, are by far the best.

This, just get a light gauge if that is what you like, I usually get 11's for acoustic.

Yes, they are. I'm the only one I know who uses them too, everyone I know uses ernie ball and I can' figure out why, they lose their tone in like a week and are only a couple bucks cheaper.
I ended up getting electrics for both though, very satisfied, so mods you can delete this thread now.

Try the D'addario exps. They're like elixirs, but feel more like non coated strings. They sound great and last a long time. I prefer them to Elixirs.
