Consider it. We all know Totse was better off with it.

I'm pretty sure we've already been through all this before.. but meh.. have at it. Keep it on topic, though.. please. Bitching is for the bitching forum, so if you have nothing new to add to the topic except bitching about the suggestion itself, just move along before I shoot some random people in the street.

Is this not borderline spammish garbage
The reasons have been gone over time and time again
Rep simply has no place here
It was abused over and over every day

Yes, for a VERY brief period.

We had it on totse, and it turned into a giant rep-whoring party half the time, with idiots either whoring for more rep so they could feel like they were worth something, or banding together to lower someone's rep trying to be pricks. There is no reason that we need rep. It isn't an accurate representation of who is a good poster or not, but rather more of a popularity contest. If a poster is worth anything, others will notice them and respect them without a giant rep bar in their posts.

I am FOR the rep system.
The argument above doesn't matter. Why? Because how much or little reputation someone has doesn't matter. I, for example, don't look at a person's stats when judging his/her post. It's silly.
So, why am I for the rep system?
Because it's fun. Simple as. It makes being on this website more fun. Have private anonymous-or-not funny positive/negative comments to your posts? What's there not to like about it?

I wasn't very active on totse during the vBul days, I didn't even know they used the rep system.

Unfortunately, most people around here aren't mature enough to realize that rep really means very little and chose to ignore it. Plenty of people around here talk about thanks in much the same way... As some kind of indication of how good a poster is, when really, it means nothing in most cases. Sure, some posters earned their thanks through good, useful posting, but others racked up lots through one-liners and other such things. Doesn't mean they are worth anything to the community, or that they contribute useful info... Just means they are funny. Look at 4J... He has more thanks than anyone, and 99% of them are from TJ photoshops, not anything overly useful.
To be honest, we don't need rep, thanks, or any other indication of "quality" other than what a member posts.

We have a thanks button, Is that not enough?
Rep system was implemented on Zoklet but after discussion it was removed. I supported the removal of rep system and I think it's useless to implement it again. Plus, the Admins are over it for good.

Meh it's not like a real rep is it? It's just indicative of how many good / shitty posts someone makes.
People who would get butthurt over having rep are faggots.

If this place had a "claim to fame", like Totse did, then sure. I would rather it had as a minimalistic interface as possible. This way it will stand out and be memorable, and show that the emphasis is on information.
But the way it is now, it really doesn't matter in my eyes.

This place is already enough like a high school. Adding some queer ass rep system would be no different then the popularity BS that takes place among teenagers in a high school. We don't need it and it would not add anything of value to the community.

No, what I meant is this:
We don't need some kind of rating system for others to determine how good a poster is. If a poster makes frequent good posts, others will recognize them quickly as someone who makes good posts. If someone posts shit all the time, everyone will get to know them as the guy who posts shit. We don't need a system to tell us who is shit and who isn't.
