This thread is about all things Toast and Toasters. I personally enjoy having french jam (raspberry is good) on my toast (sourdough).
Does anyone else get a shock (by shock I mean a surprise) whenever toast pops up out of a toaster? Or when you lean over to see if it's almost done and it pops up. Happens to me every single time.

Nope, cannot say I get shocked (nervous disposition), I guess I just lack the prey mentality.
Good quality thick cut marmalade with a small amount of unsalted butter (preferably both should be french) on good quality wholemeal bread.

There's no better breakfast than toasted bread with butter and a glass of chocolate milk.

Toast is one of the greatest foods ever. Toasted marmite sandwiches, toast with marmalade, jam, conserves of any kind. Burnt toast is my favourite. Although apprently it can cause bowel cancer in later life so I try to avoid it now.
I like blueberry jam, jalapeno jam, peanut butter, and a wide variety of breads.
I used to have cinnamon spread or Nutella every so often. Hazelnut flavours get old, but cinnamon is always good stuff.

Currently eating beans on toast topped with Parmesan, bloody excellent.
If I was going for posh toast though, it'd be... french bread with camembert and caramelised onion. Or smoked salmon with Hollandaise sauce.

You are right, an American friend at school introduced me to this. We used buns filled with peanut butter and strawberry Jam, it is absolutely delicous, sadly peanut butter is very calorific.
Strawberry-rhubarb jam is delicious.

Here's something odd - I can never ever wait for my toaster to pop my toast because I'm terrified of it burning. I don't even know how long my toaster toasts for because I can't not press the button. It might make perfectly toasted bread for all I know, but I'll never find out.

I could live on those. And frequently do. Only reason I didn't have one earlier was 'cos we're out of cheese. I love my sandwich toaster.
EDIT: Pop little bits of cooked sausage in the bean 'n' cheese toastie for even more win.

I pop it up when it's not done because I don't want it to burn.
Then I put it down again and forget about it, resulting in burnt toast.

it hadn't been mentioned because what the fuck does peanut butter and jelly have to do with toast? who toasts their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? that would severely ruin the texture.
i don't know how you english eat beans on toast. i admit i've never had the two together, but it sounds disgustingly british. where's yoyobek with her jar of hot dogs? ugh. and you add cheese to it? my god.
