A Way to Get More Users on Zoklet

Sorry if this has been suggested before.

The ratio of Lurkers on Zoklet is ridiculous.

I've been lurking for ages, even in the final year of Totse I was there lurking away, theres no real incentive to join the forum.

So....


How about we add a feature so that you have to be registered to see more than, say 5 threads a day. This would force the lurkers to join. But, it could also create the problem of hundreds of accounts with 0 posts.

Just a suggestion from the eyes of a Reformed Lurker.

I assume you're joking, but on the off chance that you're not... the idea is that we want the web crawler bots to find as much content as possible so that when people search for things on search engines, there's a bigger chance of them finding zoklet.

I agree with Zok. It's hard for users to join a forum these days. With sites like facebook,orkut etc most of the users don't know about BBS. But still compared to other forums I visit this place is unique. So, don't worry. In time we will get more users.

i feel that. It makes me pissed every time i look at it to have my real name connected to anything online.
The problem with facebook is it's too damned good at what it does. Within days its impossible to kill it, because it's too useful.

ahhhh what a mud farmer moment...

if we got 20 new members and 17 of them were trolls, idiots, or some other problem children so to speak, it would be worth it to root them out and let the rest die out to gain the 3 good members compared to not getting any new blood
