Anyone else here have an intense urge to learn this language? I don't intend on living there or anything but I wanna speak Russian. Everything from the alphabet to the way it sounds is cool as fuck. Its probably a lot harder to learn than French or Spanish cuz theres a different alphabet but the alphabet isn't all that different. I'm guessing the place to start is learning the alphabet. I'm searching Russian alphabet on youtube to find one of those kids songs that help you remember but I can't find any. Do they even use a song to teach kids the alphabet in Russia?
EDIT: Then again I did find this one

This should get you started on your journey to learning this awesome language.
Good shit. Hopefully you like a challenge. I'm a native speaker, although since I've been in the US for so long, I now consider english my primary language.
That alphabet 'rap' has really fucked up inflection/pronunciation as far as northwestern and european Russian is concerned. The alphabet song I remember from my youth actually kind of resembles the melody to the US' 'A-B-C-D-E-F-G' one.
Pronunciation is a pain in the ass, grammar is a whoreson bastard and expressions/colloquialisms/translations can be confusing as fuck. It's definitely a tough language..... harder than romance ones for sure.

It definitely is more difficult to learn compared to any Romance or Germanic language, in terms of grammar at least. Russian inflects words to a far greater extent than most Romance or Germanic languages (IIRC Russian has 6 cases to German's 4, and most Romance languages have none) and a majority of the vocabulary is completely foreign to us. It's definitely a challenge you're setting yourself up, droog.

Good luck, I'll teach you the street slang and all the bad words that them books couldn't even begin to explain.
