I almost didn't approve this thread solely on the reason that you keep repeatedly deleting your threads after others have already contributed their thoughts and opinions to them. If you delete this thread, you can be positive no further threads will be accepted here by you. I hope I'm making myself very clear.
As for the idea, I also believe we need ONE forum scheme which is global to all members. This would allow us to garner a more solid identity and a more united image.

Yes, let's all gather around the license plate while keeping warm with the solidarity it brings.
InB4 Toothless Joe whines since he's been crying for customization on multiple deleted threads from his hands too!

The point of the theme should be to encourage promotion and strengthening of the community, not zok's personal life. The way we have it now, it's more like we transported a Rubik's cube back to 3542 BCE just to try to get the Neanderthals and Troglodytes to worship it.
We DO have a default theme. If you aren't logged in and if you don't specify that you want to view another theme instead, the Newschool theme is shown by default. This is also why we designed the main page with the Newschool theme. We want everything to match so that the site has a "look"
Having other themes available does not really hinder this - it just makes the option available for those who want it.
Honestly, its fine the way it is - though I've heard a few suggestions about the banner (having a different one for each forum) which I think would be cool.

As I recall, we already had a thread where many members put a whole lot of time and effort into creating really original and nice-looking banners - dozens of member-submissions... and the entire thread simply fell under the "wheels of progress". How now, brown cow? ;)

to be fair most of those user banners were awful why dont we get someone who has some real talent to create some nice looking ones? i think that could be really neat!

Well, I found most of them to be quite well done. In addition to that, Dr. Goog came up with several more great designs here in another thread.
