So i just dont feel safe anymore with leaving my car places unattended. I have a lot of enemys and it is way to easy for someone to just come up and key my car, i also have a brand new pair of subs that someone would love to get there hands on im sure.

So i was wondering if you guys know of any good ways to keep my car safe.. i was thinking about installing a little camera but that seems really expensive. Thanks for all the help guys.

What about an alarm?
Or, even if it probably won`t work, a little box that flashes a LED every 2 seconds?

You can't prevent crimes per say. All you can really do is make your car less likely of a target, by making it worth too much trouble to steal or break into. It could be something as easy as parking your car underneath a lightpost so it's well lit. People in the mindset for a quick comeup are usually looking for easy marks. Make your car seem more trouble then it's worth and most of the time, thief's will move on to easier cars.

The best way to not get your system stolen is by not letting everyone & their mom know you have one. i.e., don't ride around with your windows down & your music up so everyone around you can hear you and especially don't show your system off to people at parties or at the local Fri/Sat night hangouts. If you have a flashy setup that you can see through your windows you need to hide that shit.

People can't steal what they don't know about. I know it's tempting to want to show off your cool, slamin system, but you gotta think "did I get this system for me to listen to, or for everyone else to listen to?" If you got it for other people to hear then someone is eventually going to take you up on that and jack your stuff.

^ is that a Porker hidden under there?

In my experience car covers usually make people peek under them and probably attract more attention than a bare car.

I'd get a good wheel lock (like a disklock that covers the whole wheel) along with a bit that attaches to the gear lever. They take ages to remove (i.e. you have to cut through them and try not to damage the car in the process) and are a pretty good deterrent. You could also get an alarm and a tracker (some insurance companies, in the UK at least, give you discounts if you have an approved alarm/tracker)

There's not a lot you can do to stop people comitting arson on your car (arsing it?) other than parking it in well-lit, preferably CCTV protected, car park.

If you have a hydraulic clutch, I saw a good little device.

It's a key operated one way valve which you put in the hydraulic line. When the key is in there is acts as a normal bit of pipe, but with it removed the fluid can only flow from the master cylinder and not back again. So the thief stamps on the clutch...and disengages the clutch until you put the key in.

Not much of a visible deterrent, but short of towing the car it'll stop most people nicking it.
