The concept of it all is a little bit hard to grasp but, after a while, its great.

I discovered this magnificient series about a month or two ago, and I had watched all of the most recent seasons 1-4.

Best television show i've ever watched, the new season is supposed to be coming in 2010, but 4 specials throughout 09.

Is there anyone else who understands this show and enjoys it as much as I do?? Comments on the soon to be new doctor? all good things, maybe bad.

theres a doctor who fanclub at my university. ive only seen a few episodes. i personally dont see whats so good about it. though the concept is fairly original, it looks as though the producers wanted it to look low-budget

Yeah, I like Doctor Who? a lot also. I watch it on BBC America 114. "The Doctor" from seasons 2-4 is only going to be in those specials throughout 2009 then in the next season there will be a new actor playing "The Doctor".

Those last two episodes in season 4 could have been a movie.

I don't know if you guys in America realise it, but Doctor Who is in like it's 100000000000000th season. It's been around since quite a while before colour television.

I approve of this thread.

I'm not sure if you are watching the new revived series, or the old classic series.

If you haven't already, got seek out some of the old classic serials with Tom Baker as The Doctor. That was the best era of Doctor Who, absolutely classic.

Here's a clip from "Genesis Of The Daleks", with Tom Baker as The Doctor, circa 1975. Widely considered to be the best DW serial ever.

The "look" of the new show is heavily influenced by the original series', which were decidedly low budget compared to it's American counterparts. All the same they are excellent, and I think the retro look of the New Who is a refreshing break from the shitty Star Wars-inspired design wasteland of most modern sci-fi.

I started getting into this show last year and I love it. David Tennant is great in it, sad that he resigned from the show.

Hopefully the new Doctor will be as good as Tennant.

It's sad to see David Tennant Regenerate into Matt Smith. But it looks like from the previews that Smith has his own new Phrase as the Doctor. Where Tennant had "Allon Ze!" Smith has "Geronimo!"

Watching Tennant regenerate in the finale was beyond sad - it was the single most heart-wrenching, fist-clenching, lump-in-my-throat television moment I'd seen in awhile.

Matt Smith has some HUGE shoes to fill.

The last 10 minutes of Tennants final episode made the Christmas special JUST worth sitting through... God that was horrible. It's like Russell T Davies came up with "The Master Race" joke, and worked the plot backwards from there. -__-

I agree, it was a fabulous send-off for Tennant.

Matt Smith can go die in barbed wire factory for all I care... It is rather large boots to fill but also the fact that the storyline has been pushed to the limit in the specials their epic storyline really don't leave much else to do...

Now I am off to find the original Dalek invasion of earth 2150 in Technicolour with Bernard Cribbins in it..

Also interesting to note is that he never allude to the fact that he is an alien just an eccentric inventor...

The end of the last episode for Tennant, i'm pretty sure when the doctor went back and looked at all of his past companions and such, it was the last time we would ever be seeing them. Captain Jack Harkness, Rose, Sarah Jane Smith, Martha. It was more then just the doctor seeing them for the last time, it was all of us seeing them for the last time, they are getting a brand new writer, I think they are going to pretty much scrap everything that went on.

Its going to be rough, i'm going to miss them all.

Nah man, good riddance I say. I'm tired of having that flaming homo and all those old companions pop up all the time. (Except for Rose, cos she's hot).

This.

The Season 4 season finale (the DoctorDonna ep's where they had like, every major companion flying the TARDIS together) was a crock of shit, and was the point that i thought a new set of companions would do the show some fucking good.

They completely spoiled Rose coming back by bringing back every single other companion too.

Not to mention the Homosexual cameo characters that R.T.D HAD to write in as gay for equality throughout the series...
