One of my friends says he is growing a weed plant with seeds he got from a friend who smokes. I don't have any experience with weed plants so I need help in identifying the plant.

Seriously? I do feel itchy. :s
No that's definitely not a weed plant. I think SAS is right it appears to be poison ivy. But there's something funny about it, perhaps a rare specimen? You should mail it to me, im an amateur botanist, ill take a closer look at it.

Looks like a beautiful specimen too.. Definitely not a bad looking plant, but depending where you live, climate, and whether or not your keeping inside.. not sure how much it'll produce some harvest.. Then again, some of us get it out early.. and use SoG..

how are you getting sativa from a top down view where you can't really get a look at node placement or spacing, or leaf positioning.
Also the large fat wide fan leaves would say indica dominant to me.
just curious if you had criteria, or just wanted to have something to say?

For its age/height ,size of fan leaves no way is that indica. i have been growing for long enough to know what indica leafs and traits look like.
fan leaves to big. Not bush enough sativa big ass fan leaves indica smaller leafs.
very bushy. and indica is not very tall at all. never gets taller then a few feet.
he will know if it grows larger then 3 - 4 feet its a sativa

lol..the fan leaves off my last run of sensi star were so huge i had to dry one and frame it, just massive, the piece connecting them to the stem looked like branches when you were cutting it...that's a pure indica.
All the sativas i've seen, cough, blueberry, diesel...the leaves are all arranged differently, more...vertical, rather than patterning horizontally around the stem.
So yeah...<shrug> every strains a little different though.

it doesnt have to...take a NY diesel clone for example, as soon as it gets a good tap root, plant in in a dixie cup and toss it into flower. It comes out to a single straight up and down 8-12 inch budnugget that weighs upwards of a quarter dry.
granted that ain't shit compared to the 3 or 4 ounces it'd do in a bigger pot, with a few weeks to veg, but not everyone has that much room. you could fit 7 or 8 of them in one of those stealth grow comp cases.
(assuming you've got the clones and the room just chuck the shit in...its all good. )
(edit, this late in the season though if thats a sativa and outdoors..it should be bigger. How old was the OP anyway)

I really don't think it is necessary to post this. You could have easily just googled it for an instant aanswer/identification. It is so blantantly obvious that those are cannabis leaves that I call troll. Growing one plant issetting yourself up for failure. It will probably end up being a male and "your friend" will be SOL.

<shrug> i've decided unless they're blatant or assholes to extend any OP's the benefit of the doubt...zoklet is kinda closed off and jaded these days, even if the OP's trying to troll, there no reason we can't have a decent conversation anyway.

Let this be the last post in the thread. It has served its purpose and I see this being derailed.
