So I've got some ear piercings, all in the lobes. I used to have 3 on the left and 2 on the right, but one of the ones on my right ear has since...disappeared. It's just gone, with hardly a trace.
I've always heard that you should not get a piercing done too close to an old, closed hole, because they might like merge or something and become one giant super-piercing...but is that an actual risk? Or is it just tougher to re-pierce because of scar tissue in the area?
I've done a bit of research online, and I've heard varying reports - does anybody here have actual experience with re-piercing a closed up hole? I'm still not sure whether it's even an issue anymore, since I rarely wear anything in them anymore, but I guess it just feels weird that the original symmetry is off by one, now, so I was thinking of getting it re-done just to "re-balance" things.
