I'm in the middle of reading the hitchhikers guide (should have done it years ago) and Douglas Adams is the best narrator i have ever read.

That's where I had to find the first Dirk Gently book when I got into Douglas Adams as a kid. For some reason, there were a number of years where DGHDA was out of print in the U.S. but the sequel was available. They reprinted it again around the time of his death I think.
