I saw all of Black Lagoon, and loved it, so something along those lines, if that helps.
Thanks!
Gratuitous "Guren Lagen" suggestion, but I'm sure you've seen it if you've seen Black Lagoon.

Wait, what? Haven't even heard of it. Kinda stumbled upon black lagoon on accident. Most of my anime is stuff like naruto, bleach, the last airbender, or yuyu hakusho. Guren Lagen you say? I'll look it up.

Gurren Lagan is popular, but most popular?
The name Gundam rings a bell here. But anyway, that's a good choice.
You should look up the other recommendation threads since I'm sure there is quite a few.
Also, check out Berserk, Claymore and FLCL.

I skimmed the front page of this forum, didn't see any, so I made this thread. In hindsight, I probably should have run a real search.

Meh.
I always recommend Cowboy Bebop or Outlaw Star to those few who havn't seen them. A lot of the same themes as Black Lagoon.
Coyote Ragtime Show - kinda like Cowboy Bebop meets Ocean's Eleven.
Baccano - This one's kinda hard to watch at first. The storytelling is kinda all over the place switching between the 1700s, 1930, and 1931. It's made slightly more confusing because there's lots of characters each with their own stories.
If you can stick with it, it's a pretty damn good series with immortals, alchemy, thievery, and mafia wars. Good stuff.
Code Geass - because it's fucking awesome.

Sometimes i forget what i watched and didn't watch, i used to have a list so i could remember. Well besides from what was said already i think Genshiken was pretty good, not action packed or thrilling but i thought it was an all around good Anime. Check it out.
Umm Neon Genesis Evangelion, and i thought Hellsing was pretty cool.

I remember bestechung...vaguely. Just like White Rabbit...I remember you from back in the day but nothing specific rly.
Sorry...I've kinda forgotten a lot of the people from the good ol' totse anime forum and the irc channel. Years of alcoholic beverages, a few mind altering substances, and just the daily grind will do that to ya. I miss those days though. :(
This forum's been kinda dead lately and I havn't touched irc in almost a year. I need to stay in touch with the few regulars I have left.
Did I used to play Tron, RO, or PSO with any of you..? Most of all, I miss playing games with you people.
We should do that again some day. :D

Yeah i liked totse a lot. Anyways honestly i would really like to get into a good RO server again, white rabbit and i were just talking about it the other day. Last time i played i got up too a 96 sniper i believe..ahh the good ol' days. Definitely let me know if we can pull something together on a half decent server.
By the way we also played a little Chrome Hounds together.

I think I'm done with RO. I'll go back to it every once in awhile but, everytime I do, I find less and less to do. I usually wind up quitting after a couple of weeks.
Phantasy Star Online is another one that I play off and on these days, but I'm always happy to come back.
Currently I'm into Eve Online with a little bit of Guild Wars and D&D Online on the side.
Spirited Away mayne.
Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki works always pop up in these recommendation threads, but the only one I really feel safe recommending to people is Princess Mononoke. The others are great movies...but I find very little in a lot of them that a mainstream audience would like.
I just started watching a Studio Ghibli film called Tales from Earthsea. It's loosely based on the books by Ursula K. Le Guin and directed by Goro Miyazaki. I'm only about halfway through, but it's pretty good so far.

How are Guild Wars and D&D i always considered getting into them but was never sure if they were worth it, is Guild Wars kind of like RO? And when i think of D&D i think of the old D&D i used to play for the xbox.

I'd say they're both very different from RO. :P
Guild Wars isn't free but, once you buy the game, there's no monthly subscription. I think you can get in on a 2 week trial if you want to check it out.
The main problem people have with Guild Wars is that it's heavily instanced. There are lots of people running around in towns, cities, and outposts. Once you step through the gates into the overworld, you're in an instance...meaning that you and your party are the only player characters there.
There are ups and downs to the instanced gameplay. I mainly like it because quests have meaning and feel like part of a story instead of "go kill 20 rats and bring me back their tails".
D&D Online is free and pretty much the pen and paper RPG tranferred to MMO format. It's got basically the same leveling system and the combat seems to be handled by virtual 20 sided die.
It's even got the DM's voice when you enter dungeons.
Like Guild Wars, the overworld and dungeons are instanced. Unlike Guild Wars, dungeons in D&D are a bit more dynamic. You can search for traps (there are a lot of them) or look for hidden passages and treasure. When you enter a dungeon, you usually have a specific goal to accomplish...like find and eliminate the source of an undead plague, track down a thief and get back an item he stole from an NPC, or rescue someone.
I highly recommend both. If you get into either of them, let me know. I'll try to meet you in-game. :)

Heh. Got a lvl 20 Assassin/Ranger in Factions. I got tired of trying to use her for melee combat, so I recently started switching to bow skills...with mixed results.
Factions is probably my favorite out of Guild Wars' expansions.
