How is a goodbye thread self-important? I stated that it's the "manner in which people choose to leave" that labeled them as self-important. If you don't see that for yourself, then you simply don't share this opinion.

Actually, you're full of shit with respect to him cleaning out the "clown-children." Whether or not you think I'm a fool, I didn't break any rules and yet I got a 2 week ban because I disagreed with his moderating style openly. I also got bans in #totse and #bltc for this same reason.

As far as who was right, kinkou or meta, it's completely a matter of opinion, and there are plenty of people who would argue both ways on the issue. I was there: meta was uselessly flooded the channel and removed another mod from the access list just because he couldn't keep his little anger fit in check.
