View Full Version : Losing weight through prescription medication?
Hi..
Is there any meds that one can take that will speed up the metabolism/help burn off the calories faster?
I don't want to take appetite suppressants (though I have them) because I love to eat. I just want to be able to lose weight without exercising at all while eating a lot..
Thanks.

The Neo-American Dream.
Well, there are already medical conditions where people lose weight despite eating a lot, diabetes, hyper-thyroidism..etc. I dont see why the medical community can't just come up with a drug that simulates one of those diseases...they'd make a ton of money.

In the long run they don't work forever, but consider the ECA stack, or if Ephedrine is hard to get, Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, check label though) is a weaker substitute that's OTC. Increase dose by 3x for Sudafed though.

What you're asking for isn't really feasible... just exercise. Or eat more frequently during the day but in smaller portions if you're that opposed to exercising.

Wait, if she eats what she says she wants and exercises enough to keep the weight off, wouldn't she wind up with obscene muscles?

how about you just lesser the amount of calories you eat and cut simple sugars from your diet? Or excercise?
And yes, just take amphetamines. Just don't watch Requiem for a Dream. Might turn you off of your retarded little idea. Goddamnit, we're getting pathetic. People don't want to do any work for what they want anymore. They just want someone else to have a magic fix ready for them.
Come to think about it, pretend to have cancer and get chemo.

The only real answer to his question. The rest of you are imposing your silly morals upon this boy.
Getting fit and being thin are two different aspirations, and people who want one may not want the other. In this day and age, it is very possible to have one without the other.

There are a lot advertised on TV - things like lipozene and the like. If you do decide to go this route, please, PLEASE google what you're getting yourself into. I had a friend die because of some weight loss pills he was taking. The pills happened to have something else in them that was lethal in large or prolonged doses...
Either way, there are tons of links on google disputing the effectiveness/contents of these drugs.

I read the part about dieting aid, but this is a cellular metabolic poison. still sounds scary.
The best diet is one to just eat more or less calories to gain or loose wait. After trying Topamax for migraines, I had to try to gain back some weight. It was the most effective drug as it killed my already low appetite for food.

It's not even calories that make you fat, they play a role, but it's mostly carbs.

Whatever. The idea is to eat smaller meals and quit being a fat pig with portion size.

Why do people even give a fuck if they're fat? Even the skinny looking people I see are skinny fat, they look slim but they have a considerable amount of bodyfat once you get closer to them. If everyone is such a god damned fat ass, who the fuck cares, shut your god damned asses up.

I had to stop it after a couple months because it was making me feel like I had electricity in my head, other than that it was an awesome drug.
I read that it is bad for people with very high stress levels, so maybe that is what caused some of the side effects.
