Knowing that one day, somehow, I'll get to live in one of these awesome places by the ocean keeps me warm on a winter's day.

That's what I thought, and I got so used to the warmth that when "winter" rolled around here I was just all like ....FUCK ITS COLD, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SUN?

And I'm OK with snowy winters, at least there is a change in scenery.

Over here in England, winters are basically just like summers, but shit.

No man, winter is awesome. You just have to live in a subtropical climate where it's hot and humid almost all the time to appreciate it.

I really appreciated being stuck outside my work at 7:45pm last night scraping the ice off my car for about 15 minutes so I could finally go home after doing 2 hours of overtime :(

Also going outside for a smoke sucks.

Trust me mate, it's not chill at all. My mother is from Hawaii, born and raised, and I was fortunate enough to spend some time working there. I say fortunate because I had been contemplating moving there, and working there allowed me to learn what a major shithole Hawaii really is, before I spent much money or sold my things at home. It's a beautiful group of islands, but the people and culture there is shit. They are the most racist, ignorant, and meanest group of people I've ever met. This is the real Hawaii I'm talking about, not the tourist hot spots. When it comes to living there, if you're not rich enough to buy your own huge ass chunk of island, being anything OTHER than an Asian/Polynesian racial blend in Hawaii is like being a black man in 1950s Southern US.

And that's not just "me" who couldn't adapt to island living. I've spent major time in the Caribbean and South Pacific and got on great. If you want that sort of lifestyle without everyone hating you, forget Hawaii and find yourself a good island in the SP. Many of them are just as pretty, cheaper cost of living, and nicer people.

I've always found it kind of funny how Europeans and Americans die off like flies in heat waves, when on the Colombian coast people are ungrudgingly resigned to bear daily highs of 95F, coupled with usually choking humidity levels. The 'feels like' reading can easily soar past 115F on a bad day, which is often, and Americans and Europeans die in heatwaves of 100F?

That said, I've never seen snow first-hand, and the coldest temperature I've ever felt is about 20F in Boston during spring once. I'd like to experience a winter up north.

Meh, as long as you stay hydrated, you get used to it.

I am a sucker for walking at nights, and these places normally have the perfect night-time temperatures.

Seriously, warm summer nights is one of the finer things in life.

Edit: Oh, and 20F is not really cold. When you experience real winter, when you go out and it is 20F outside, it feels like a warm day!
Somehow, it feels colder when there is no snow but rain.

fuck San Diego. Everyone says its so great to have sunshine all the time, but fuck. Shit gets so boring after a while. Nothing ever changes. It's 71 degrees here 340 days out of the year. And those 25 days that it isn't, it's 60 degrees with mild cloud cover. The ocean is always cold as fuck, and honestly, there isn't as much to do here as everyone says there is.
Having no seasons is boring as hell. It's not perfect like everyone that doesn't live here says it is.

Hawaii however, Hawaii sounds badass. I would love to live there.

Perfect night time temps my ass. Move to any of those places and you will regret it. Move to Hawaii and you will get lynched by some nationalistic islanders like TFC mentioned.

Cold winter weather is awesome, I wish we could have a worldwide ice age.

8am sunday morning in winter, out in the countryside on my bicycle and it's completely silent, there's not a single other person nor any wildlife around, and the air is really crisp and sharp. Winter's fucking awesome.

My winter consists of SE trade winds and clear skies. Warm/cool temps of say 24C during the day and rarely lower than 10C at night. Wouldn't trade that shit.

Smoking outside when it's cold out sucks. :( But then again smoking outside when it's 95 isn't so great either.

Winter is as awesome as summer. Living somewhere where it's hot as shit all the time with only varying degrees of rain and humidity would get old fast. I know someone who lived in Darwin for a while. He said there was nothing better than drinking cold beers outside at night in the rain with your shirt off watching the lightning. Sadly though for half of the year you can only get relief from your air conditioner (and they didn't have one )

I guess it wouldn't be too bad somewhere with temperatures not too extreme, I'd rather somewhere temperate though. P.S hey SHODAN, it's a beautiful day about 23c here with light breeze and around 40% humidity. Summer be coming :)

Me and yggdrasil live in Miami and I gotta say its pretty good over here. If you can deal with the fusion of Carribean/South American culture that predominates, then you'll love it.

Our beaches suck to be honest. Full of people all year round. Miami Beach is good for clubbing, partying, and going crazy. However, el Farito (key biscayne) is pretty awesome beach. Gotta pay to get in though. : /

It sucks because they used to have all those raised wooden homes that provided good airflow, just needed louvers and some fans. I suppose Tracy fucked that for good.

He lived there in the 80's I think. Not sure what the house was like but apparently it got near 50 degrees inside on extreme days

Dude, I know where i'd rather fucking live. Our average summer is like 25-30C, that's just the right temperature. Winter time it doesn't often go below like -5, the coldest it ever get is like -10 ish. Spring and autumn it varies a lot day to day, but that's far more interesting and refreshing than living in a million-degree sweatbox all year round.

Another thing I really like about winter is that the water from the cold tap is really REALLY fucking cold. And being a stingy student I still haven't turned my heating on (I'm typing this wearing a coat) which means that when I take a glass of water to bed, it's still just as ice-cold in the morning.

I've been to Miami, it was pretty cool. The only problem is that it's in Florida, which has little apart from a massive swamp you have to drive around if you want to go anywhere, and old people.

The weather has been surprisingly pleasant this year. There hasn't been that unbearable kind of heat that we get in the summer for a while, it's been raining just right, there's generally a nice breeze out...

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:0pU47Xnou9gpSM:http://static.funnyjunk.com/pictures/feels_good.jpg&t=1

I honestly don't think I could handle living in somewhere like Boston or Minneapolis. I'm not used to such cold weather, and having it around for so much of the year would drive me insane. I remember by March last year I was so sick and tired of that cold weather we had

Dude, Miami is HUGE though. Dade County is a wonderland. Kinda like a slightly smaller more tropical Los Angeles. We have tons of neighborhoods, towns, and whatnot. Many interesting little places to see, areas to explore. If you were just around Miami Beach you missed out. If you're ever around here let me know!

I fuckin love living here.
