View Full Version : Food Network
I'm sure that everybody has their own favourite shows on the Food Network. One of mine is Restaurant Makeover. My background in construction and my interest in food both manage to hook me on this show.
Not so co-incidentally, I get to meet Lynn Crawford, an executive chef at the Four Seasons and a part of the show, through work and school next week. Hopefully she likes the food.
What are your favourite cooking shows?

I used to watch a lot of Food Network. Unwrapped was my favorite show. Like a food version of How It's Made. I also watched a lot of Paula Deen. Mostly for her soothing southern accent and extremely unhealthy recipes (such as this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv8yEMRDe_w)).
Barefoot Contessa... I don't know why I liked this show. Her and her damn husband Jeffrey, who always seems to make an appearance. Diner's Drive-ins and Dives is a pretty good show as well. Though I hate the host. Seriously who the fuck is this guy?
Only show I don't really like is Good Eats, with that nerdy guy.
I'd totally rail that bitch from Everyday Italian. A threesome with her and Rachael Ray would be superb. Then they could fix me dinner afterward

Wok with Yan, FTW. I used to watch that show back when we only had CBC, Global, CTV, New RO (A Channel now), OMNI, and City in our house, so not even Food Network. OMNI played Wok with Yan once in a while and I just remember it being this little chinese guy always making dumb jokes about woks and little play on words like "Nothing like going for a good wok! lolololol!" haha, fucking Yan.

In Britain I enjoyed chopping off to nigella Lawson.

License to grill is the shit. Mostly because I'm more willing to spend time in front of a grill rather than a stove. Bobby flays grilling show is pretty good if he doesn't annoy you too much.
I haven't been watching it lately, so I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
Dinner: Impossible is a pretty sweet one. The guy travels all over the place setting up banquets on the fly.

Barefoot Contessa, hands down.
I don't like Giada because she over pronounceates italian words.
"Ok, now we're just going to add a little MOOOTTTZEREEELLLA"
"Mm...I love a nice chicken PIIICCAAAAAAATA"

Only the insulting voiceover going on is good. I don't think any contestant does not come out of the show looking anything other than a tit.

^ well obviously. The fact that everyone in the show is a complete goon is the only reason why it's so good.

Hell yeah. When you see people who live in massive estate houses deliberately voting everyone else low to maximise their chances of taking home a grand over the mouthy, alcoholic single mother, you know you're watching good TV. Especially when the voiceover calls them on it and rips the shit out of them constantly.

i only came in here to say that.
and i find alton brown's show entertaining. and the one with mark summers can really rile up your appetite depending on what food they are profiling. i remember seeing the show on hot dogs, i think, and actually craving hot dogs. hot dogs! the cheapest, most basic tasting shit ever. but they made them look so good.
