Looks like the last thread got purged with the switch-over, so let's do this again...

Welcome to the Music Forum!

It looks like I'll be moderating this forum, so let's go over some ground rules.

Any links that you think may or may not lead to copyrighted material should be put in CODE tags as follows:

http://www.rapidshare.com/dijIPL2K$jfdija4kj4

This goes for any file sharing sites (RS, Megaupload, Mediafire, etc.) or any direct downloads. Furthermore, do not link to any .torrent files but rather link to the site that is hosting it.

All the rules that apply to the forum in general, apply here. I'm a pretty easy-going guy, so don't worry too much about offending me, but if you're being completely ridiculous, out of line (i.e. spamming), poor trolling, or whatever, I won't hesitate to impose restrictions.

Since music is (debatably) subjective and opinion-based, I'm sure there will be a lot of unfounded criticism and flaming that goes on here. Regardless of how stupid that is, it is your right to act that way, and I'll do my best not to infringe on it.

The Albums of 2009 sounds pretty cool. I haven't bought/downloaded a lot of newer music recently though, so if this forum were to be made, maybe I'd make a consideration ;)

I think I would make it more general; like albums and songs discussion.

Well, as it is now, the music forum is already general, and anything music-related can be posted in here. All I'm asking is whether or not you'd like a sub-forum which would be related specifically to new albums coming out in 2009.

Mostly, I want to keep the music forum general, and not try and categorize things too much. However, a place to discuss new music specifically might be something that people would be interested in.

I'm interested. I bought my first album of 2009 the other day: Animal Collective's "Merriwether Post Pavilion."

I haven't heard this one yet, how is it? How does it compare to "Sung Tongs" or "Feels?"

MPP blows Sung Tongs, Feels, and Strawberry Jam out of the fucking water. Already Album of the year for me. It's got nothing on Danse, Spirit, or Indian though.

I think that the individual albums can be discussed right here perfectly well. Hell, you could just sticky something with all the releases too.

i think an album review/album recommendation (for all decades) sub section would be more appropriate, but that's just a suggestion!

What, there's an unlocked sticky that hasn't been posted in since 2009? And the title isn't even right?

Mods, get yer shit together.
