Well, it seems to be drawing to a close (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7836660.stm), finally. I don't buy it for a second, however. God knows the Israelis are hellbent on interfering in Palestinian matters. It's also particularly worrisome that the Israelis had asked the US for help in an attack against Iran earlier this year. Thank god Bush put what little acumen he had to use and rejected Israel's pleas.

not only because America had the genius to give them Nuclear weapons, decent Planes and a shit load of M16's. It will be amusing when a nuclear attack on Iran causes retaliation by either China or Russia and it results in America's assured destruction, hopefully Airstrip one will not be included in this, though why do I get the impression we are going to be a lapdog to a new president still.

yep, thanks for the preemptive (I assume) apology. This is why my dad has a house in New Zealand, so we have an appropriate bolt hole in the future. However if it was nuclear war then i suspect I'm fucked as I am pretty close to alot of American air bases in Suffolk.

Oh we dont have any guns, its more just a place and hopefully a good reason why we can get into NZ. Although hopefully I should be getting some shotguns and a .22 if I can get two mature adults to give me a reference

Oh and I now like your dad alot, my dad also has crazy ideas, and a bust of Hitler and a fervent deep rooted belief that Zionist Jews are after him

First and foremost, he thinks Jesus is/was an alien, yet he continues to razz me for being an atheist. He's certain the Masons/Illuminati manipulate the entire world, and swears the Jews are conspiring alongside them. Funny, he doesn't know about the whole reptilian conspiracy. Almost got him a book by David Icke for his birthday, but I didn't want to push him over the ledge.

First and foremost, he thinks Jesus is/was an alien, yet he continues to razz me for being an atheist. He's certain the Masons/Illuminati manipulate the entire world, and swears the Jews are conspiring alongside them. Funny, he doesn't know about the whole reptilian conspiracy. It is also uncommon. But my dad vocally insults jew and tells everyone. he claims the jews were not killed by Hitler but instead were firebombed (all 6 million) by the Americans during their invasion. he believews that the dutch and english royal family are hugely wealthy and control the world. Equally dad describes Christianity as a jewish conspiracy (well half marks it was a Roman one kind of) and on that lead bust of Hitler, its proudly right next to the front door and cannot be missed. He also talked to me about Icke he told me he thought he was dead on, however he at least admitted maybe the lizard alien thing was not true. On a side note, does your dad tell everyone he meets of his conspiracy theories? Mine does, he did so at my schools speech day, it destroyed me.

I do think our fathers would get along just well. My father's mind is as flimsy as his logic. He used to hate Bush, claiming he was undoing all of Clinton's good work. But now with Obama, he hails Bush a hero, labels Clinton as a crook, and Obama as the Antichrist agent of the Masonic Order. He swear by all his bullshit, and has no problem spewing his shit in polite company. I can remember an awkward Christmas Eve a few years back, with him talking about that shit in front of my mother's cousin, who is a nun.

Anyways, he's pretty keen on the whole UFO conspiracy. You know, up until I was about 11, I didn't like inviting people over to my house because I felt uncomfortable with all his whackjob ideas. Funny thing is, he claims to be Catholic, and up until I was 13 he'd force me to go to Church, knowing full well I was an atheist, yet he believes Jesus is some sort of alien, and that half the shit in the Bible was perpetrated by them. He's so fucking contradictory it blows my mind.

But we should stop. This thread is to discuss the Palestinian conflict, not the insanity of our fathers. :p

I am usually sympathetic to the Palestinians. However Hamas is Just Stupid. What on earth Possesses them to send firecrackers into Israel? OK i understand Jews the forcibly removed the Arabs from Palestine and the jews created a country were there was one already.

However what Hamas wants is unattainable, there is something like 6.5 million Israelis. They aren't going anywhere in a hurry. The stubborn refusal of Hamas to recognize Israel and stop sending missiles over the border only hurts the Palestinians and makes no difference to Israel. Quite frankly, if Israel were to continue destroying Gaza, who will care enough to stop them? The only countries that sympathize with the Palestinians are the ones that don't matter.

The time has come for Hamas to understand that the past is gone. If the Palestinians were more pragmatic they would understand that the benefits of being friendly towards Israel far outweighs being their enemy.
