Snorting powders through your mouth?

Now, while this wouldn't be very practical for most compounds (seeing as how most have good intranasal bioavailability) but if one had something such as morphine with poor intranasal and oral bioavailability, but didn't want to subject it to the heat of smoking, could one feasibly inhale the powdered salt (hydrochloride, sulfate, etc) as a powder? I said snorting through the mouth because I don't know what to call inhaling powders.

Maybe put it in a gelcap and use one of those asthma inhalers that pierce a gelcap filled with powder and allow you to inhale it. This can't be good for your lungs though. Especially if you're using crushed up pills (due to the binders)

Inhaling something through the mouth is not a very good idea. especially with something like morphine, that gels up ini moisture. You don't want shit going into your lungs like that. You risk blockage and pneumonia.

When you snort through the nose, it isn't going into your lungs. It goes into your sinus. That's where it gets absorbed into your bloodstream.

Oh, I should have specified, lets say it was pure morphine salt. If one wanted to make the most of it, one could freebase and smoke (the common route) or what I was thinking, which would be just to finely powder and inhale (or maybe dissolve and inhale a mist). I guess what I was wondering was if there would be how bad of a loss there would be trying to inhale a mist or powder vs the vapors produced by smoking?

When you smoke something, you inevitable burn some of it. Moreover, the higher it's normal boiling point, the more decomposes rather than shifting to the vapor form. In morphine's case, the amount that decomposes is pretty high, so if one could inhale it (to make use of the really high lung bioavailability) without smoking it, it would be the best use of the drug.
