I worked at my local library for about 2 years. Everyday i would sit at the desk and watch my peers come in and use myspace/facebook. There would be a 2 hour waiting list to get onto our computers because of this.I would have to tell people coming in to do there taxes or do research for school that they would have to wait because of all these 15-30 year olds who wanted to talk to people they already knew. There was one girl who would even be waiting outside the doors before we opened so she could go on myspace. I've seen 20 year old mothers letting there children run through the rows of books unsupervised while she changed her layouts. It's such a horrible sight to see. So much knowledge preserved in neat rows that i kept clean being discarded for a site that creates nothing new but simply mediates friendships that already exist.

this generation is a horrible one , Narcism is the new epidemic of the century.
To think we will be in power in less than 20 years is a time i fear.

The problem is every library is to chill to do anything , What case can they bring up and if they do no one cares and just hides there secret surfing. I used to watch Mr. Rogers, I know his show. I believe he started that whole "You're special" and "I like you just how you are" stuff before it became popular, before any of it got perverted by progressives into what is has become. Today as I was coming home from work, I ended up behind some fucking yahoo drifting all over the road. My first thought was, "Is this asshole drunk?" Then I got next to him. The first thing I heard when I got right was some fucking rap "song", and when I looked over, this fucking douche bag was sitting there (I don't know if you could call it sitting, his seat was half way the fuck back) fiddle fucking around with his CD book, undoubtedly looking for some more fucking rap music to play. This clown was swerving down the highway, damn near causing an accident, because he was too fucking stupid to think that maybe, just maybe, it's a good fucking idea to keep your eyes on the fucking road.

This is when I came to an important decision, I'm disowning my generation. That's right; I'm fucking done with everyone between the ages of fifteen and twenty-seven. I'm sick of being part of a generation that phrases ignorance and stupidity, where drugs and alcohol take president over literacy. An entire generation where being sexually active is exponentially more important than a meaningful relationship, personal expression, or even logical thought, that's the generation I'm lumped into. I can't even tell you how many girls in my high school got knocked up because they were too stupid to use protection, and I don't even want to think about STD rates among guys, because all their friends are boning, so that means they have to be, damn the consequences. Suddenly, it's cool to be a fucking moron, as long as you get drunk on the weekends. I'm gonna be straight here, I do drink, but the two main things that set me apart from the rest of the idiots in my age group are:
I keep that shit in check; no form of booze will pass my lips until 8:00 Pm on Friday night, and I don't pass up other things that might be more important to me in order to drink.

My drinking is a personal choice, I don't do it because all my friends do, and I don't do it to, "fit in." I could have still hung out with my friends if I didn't drink, and they wouldn't have genuinely pressured me to do so. I do it because I like to, not because MTV tells me it's cool.
And I'm not sexually active. Again, I'll be honest, it's not a moral choice, it's that I haven't found a woman that I want to have sex with. I'm not going to wear clothes I don't like and get some kind of faggy hair cut just because, "Girls like it." Good, you can have those vapid twats; I don't want 'em. I'm not going to make so many sacrifices to get laid, I'm sorry, it's not that important to me.

People in my classes were actually of the opinion that reading, in any form (aside of course for text messages) was "dumb" and had "No point." People of my generation WANT to be uninformed, it's like they pine for ignorance. The only students in my school that saw ANYTHING wrong with the patriot act were either friends of mine, or honor students.

In order to qualify for my American History final, you had to get 100% of the questions on a pre-test correct. These were not hard question. In fact, any legal immigrant knows these. Oh wait, it gets worse, the very next question, "What document declared that independence?" People actually left this blank, because they didn't know. But that's alright, because they could all kill a sixer and not be completely sloshed.

I worked at my local library for about 2 years. Everyday i would sit at the desk and watch my peers come in and use myspace/facebook. There would be a 2 hour waiting list to get onto our computers because of this.I would have to tell people coming in to do there taxes or do research for school that they would have to wait because of all these 15-30 year olds who wanted to talk to people they already knew. There was one girl who would even be waiting outside the doors before we opened so she could go on myspace. I've seen 20 year old mothers letting there children run through the rows of books unsupervised while she changed her layouts. It's such a horrible sight to see. So much knowledge preserved in neat rows that i kept clean being discarded for a site that creates nothing new but simply mediates friendships that already exist.

I worked at my local library for about 2 years. Everyday i would sit at the desk and watch my peers come in and use myspace/facebook. There would be a 2 hour waiting list to get onto our computers because of this.I would have to tell people coming in to do there taxes or do research for school that they would have to wait because of all these 15-30 year olds who wanted to talk to people they already knew. There was one girl who would even be waiting outside the doors before we opened so she could go on myspace. I've seen 20 year old mothers letting there children run through the rows of books unsupervised while she changed her layouts. It's such a horrible sight to see. So much knowledge preserved in neat rows that i kept clean being discarded for a site that creates nothing new but simply mediates friendships that already exist.
