How do you go about choosing a name for an instrumental song you've written?
I've recorded a few now but have no idea what to call them, if I should call them anything.
Is it really just "anything goes"? Perhaps something the tune makes me think of?
But more than that, I'm interested to know how you musician types name songs with no words.

You try to capture the mood of the song in a word or two.

go the way of classical, name it by composer, the type of song (caprice, gavotte, etc.), the number or variation and the key. Or you could smoke some weed.

Generally, I go by something that matches the tone of the song, if the song creates a certain ambiance. Other times, something from a quote or expression I heard that I liked.
And, rarely, something just random.

Haha that's an interesting one.
Isn't it kind of ironic that it's called a "creativity tool" when its use causes a complete lack of any need for creativity?

I would either number the songs or think of a name that reflects the atmosphere/vibes it gives off.
