You should get some fresh beets and roast them. Just trim the tops and drizzle them with oil. Wrap them in foil and toss them in the oven for 45 to an hour. When they are done, unwrap, peel and slice. Toss them with some butter lettuce, torn mint leaves, blood orange sections and feta cheese. Dress with a sherry vinaigrette. Best salad you will ever have.

If elected to the position I'll begin by creating a series of video tutorials on cooking from beginner to advanced, covering many aspects including knife skills, charcuterie, pastry, butchering ect. I'll also accept requests from communnity members on what they whould like to see in my how-to videos.

This would be simple for me since I work in a kitchen and have access to all required food, supplies and equipment, not to mention I do ordering and write menus so I can actually sell the food I make for the videos.

Lets hope the admins I've clashed with in the past can put aside their petty grudges for the betterment of our community.

I was going to a while back, but after so much abuse from certain administration members I decided not to spend my time making serious, time consuming contributions when I could get banned at any time for no reason. Not to mention the state of G+G itself.

Anyway, this whole thing is just speculation at this point anyway. I'm offering to lend my time and expertise to this place in order to improve the forums and I believe I'm the most qualified person for the job. I'm willing to put aside differences I've had with the staff in exchange for a level playing field where as a moderator I will be expected to abide by the rules and at the same time not be in danger of getting banned because someone has a bad hair day.

Shouldn't the integrity of the forums be more important than some moderators petty vendettas?

I believe I explained myself in the thread within G&G effectively. Sometimes, circumstances are beyond my control, and I had communicated those issues to the rest of the staff some time ago. Seeing as no action was taken, and my situation has improved, I'm now in a position to get back to effective moderating.

I'm sorry your e-panties are in a bunch, but I'd hardly venture to say that I'm a "Zok cronie" who does nothing in the forum. If you look at my posting history prior to my situation limiting my internet access and access to the forum (which were, as stated, explained in the forum), I have contributed, and tried to maintain a forum where open, civil, and sane conversation has been the norm, unlike other corners of the internet.

I'm a biochemist by trade and by academic pursuit, I find MG fascinating and I'm subscribed to a number of journals and blogs on the topic. I apply these techniques in the kitchen at home, and experiment broadly with new concepts tht come both from my own imagination, scientific expertise and from reading articles of others in the field. It certainly helps, though. When it seemed I was headed out, I would have preferred someone with at least a passable knowledge of food, but that would certainly not be the main factor.

An ability to know what is actually pertinent conversation as opposed to out and out bullshit is always helpful, and that would allow the moderator to weed out the crap more effectively. I had my list submitted eons ago about possible help when my internet became spotty, but alas, no action was ever taken.
