I don't know if this has been suggested before, but thinking about it now... well, we post a lot of incriminating content on this website. What's the point in letting everyone and their mother have viewing access?

it's been suggested and shot down about once every 2 months. we're an open forum. if it's incriminating, don't post it. The point is to get MORE members, which requires people to be able to see what little content we have.

Let the content show up in google search, but all they can see is the few sentences that contain the search term. That will force them to register to view the whole thread if it is some content that only zoklet has, (which actually does exist)

ask the new york times how well closing off access to information is working for them.

don't feel bad, just about every mod of the grey area forums goes through the exact same phase. NFHC mods will come up with the brilliant idea of a secret source forum, bad ideas mods have the brainstorm of a hidden means and methods forum, my own was "lets take the seed out of hot topics" usually after a couple days we all realize the many reasons it's a failure of an idea.

Zoklet would be better off closing the forum to the public, it really adds nothing to keep it open.
Many other sites have hidden sub-forums or even closed off completely. With no new members in 3 years, we won't lose anything.

we gain lots of new members, IDchief and the blend venders in the trading pit have brought in quite a few, bad ideas still brings in it's share. and we've got a lot of great info about RC's in nfhc that has brought in plenty via google searches.
They don't all stick around, thanks to worthless pieces of shit who bring nothing but negativity and butthurt to the table, but some do.

There are so many reasons this should be done, esp in TP, this isn't totse...

I'm all for lurkers and such, but some things shouldn't be seen in less you're an established member, or trusted in such manner. There are places some can talk w/o worry, but for the most part, we need some fucking privacy in certain areas.

edit: this would exclude spiders, think about it!

Restricting access to information benefits no one... and online communities which take parochial attitudes to site management always end up authoritarian and dismissive of newcomers. You have also to consider how utterly impossible it would be to authenticate posters as trustworthy. When your shitty clique is infiltrated, you'll be all the more fucked because of the false sense of security you had.

You'd be surprised what can happen when you get the right members together, it's totally possible.

Either way, I meant for &Z, a 100+ post or 3 month level sorta shit. Something to keep all the bacon busy.

Do you mean like the HA or other drug dealing groups who think that they're supercool and can't be touched? Then they jump up some narc into their cool inner circle.

Then the SWAT Team kicks in their door and puts them in San Quentin? I see.

If you're talking about experts exchange, you can actually see the replies. You have to scroll all the way down. They try and trick people into registering to see the content, but it's actually there. Else it would be bad for SEO and they'd lose ranking, or something like that.

Note that this always wouldn't resolve the problem you mentioned.

100% of people who wanted to check zoklet for law enforcement purposes, would merely just create an account and then check it. You'd shake off no legal attention.

On the other hand, probably a considerable number of people who lurk (importantly, those lurkers who will later get an account) will not create accounts, and will just leave the site on finding it, no interest to further investigate.

GUYS THIS http://www.cybernations.net/about.asp

in order to become apart of an allience which helped you out and gave you money, or in this case information one had to answer questions and take a test.. basically read about an hours worth of info and then take a 20 question test... you could copy pasta...

this forumn was the best and closest nit community... look the reasons one had to take a test was to limit spies, yes there was spies, I was actually one of them that infultrated the top ranked allience and caused a shit storm after they gave me millions of dollars of aid, so yes they do exist... but in the end it was all fun and games...

plus if we had questions were someone had to talk about how they dispose dead bodies, whats the worst they would fuck up a cop, and then there best joke I think it would show the pig a lesson...

Look systems like this have existed for eons... and you should see the youtube videos... fuck it was real war with these people... like buying nukes... and yeah there was rogues, but with an allience that rogue was fucking toast...
each day you had to check on your nation man... every fucking day, and people had to have a diplomatic approach if they wanted to go far... i mean you had to private message nations based on trade...
it was here where I learned to be deafly persuasive, I mean how else would i land nude pictures on this website...

so yeah make the system where you have to take a test.. it's not original and the moderators could have a fuckload of fun... i mean just major lawls which they need...
and if they changed the questions damn right someone will share... so yeah...

the cool part was you could only see a part of the website until you passed your test, just to get a taste this was super bland... but when you got in the boost was golden...

even in the forum a person couldn't access threads until they gained approval either based on age or posts...

WHY DOESN"T THIS WEBSITE HAVE THAT FEATURE??? YEAH MODS HAVE IRC BUT I WANT A TOPIC WHERE USERS CAN ONLY TALK IF THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND 2 years...
plz?

Dude, you must admit though having a closed forum to the upper echelon that changes each year would be great... like make it where you have to be 2 years old as far as your account on its inception, then the next year make it three...

Then another one where you have to be one years old... I mean this would be so cool... and the one year old one never changes...

Do you know the type of content that would be generated??? WAY BETTER DUDE, Ihave personally been apart of systems like this and it makes this forumn look like a fucking joke man!!! From bad ideas to general nonsense... it makes this look like a joke, which is saying something
