View Full Version : Today I Wondered...

Today before the Skies conspired to Rain our Sorrows back to Earth
I thought I saw a wrinkled ceiling swallow time I knew before
We were dying We were calm We were all and on and on.
We forgot the past pretense We've forgone the post caress
We entail what we have done and we pretend this never ends.

We presuppose we live in rhythms but
we know better in the end.

I think a lot about these years
more often than you, I'm sure.
I wonder when the bricks will come

falling like meteors
falling like children on the pavement
black and adhesive to the teeth

we will one day alone or together.

I wish I could elucidate these things
but I cannot. I wish I could end it
all here but I would not.
I wish things happened
differently but

what the fuck?

We know that lives have been spent unfairly
and understand the cards we've dealt.
We've properly borne our basic burdens
and refused

we've refused
so foolishly refused
to answer our own

loud cries for help.

I wish I could ejaculate these things
but I cannot. I wish I could end it
all here but I would not.
I wish things happened
differently but

what the fuck?

chanting out from the clouds
a rainbow's challenger appears
a leprechaun jumps out of his
pot of gold

with great fury the lerechaun
thrusts his golden retriever walking stick
it rains down upon the maggots
ever so voluptuous their majestic extremist corn flakes
they knew better

the blue hue of the computer screen enchants your silly string spiderman
he cannnot protect you from the goblins
he says to you
what a
fool you are
all your base are belong to us

the clouds burst with sunlight
rain falls wet to the ground
geese fly into our engines
we ditch in the river now

my feet covered in my shoes
between the clouds the sky is blue
A cowboy sits in a saddle
on this plane you need a paddle

under my shoes the grass is smashed
silver bird no longer in the sky
such a fool to buy
a ticket to fly

thank god for our captain
stars are just points of light
flying is for birds
and fools

no this is a TJ poem
