I rented a film called The Dark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_(film)) and was a little dubious reading the blurb but it made for a decent suspenseful film. I think whoever directed it was probably a fan of Silent Hill, because it echoed a lot of that game in this film.
I'd probably rate it 6/10, could have been better, but also could have been much, much worse. So if you like Silent Hill, you will probably like this movie.
