You can admit to crimes outside of BI (seen in threads like this (http://www.zoklet.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=174144) one. Note that there are mods contributing)... but if you do so in BI you get harangued by that cunt ShadyLady, and if you're too slow to edit out any first person pronouns, you get infracted. Do it 'repeatedly' and you get a forum ban. Given that the reason for the rule, per the BI rules thread, is to protect the poster and the site, there's clearly a motherfucker of an inconsistency here. Something has to change.


While I'm here, I have some other criticisms of the BI rules thread.... Posters are advised to use a proxy when they access the forum. Why? That's fucking useless because Zoklet saves the registration IP, doesn't it? And you can't register using most proxies or tor. There's also the apparently unfounded statement that 'authorities monitor forums'. Maybe they do, but I ahven't seen any evidence of that - not on Zoklet. I doubt even Zok knows the day-to-day browsing habits of LE.

unsubstantiated bragging on a forum isn't probable cause. it's not admitting unless they're giving details which could be used to tie them to a specific crime or jurisdiction. Slippery slope fallacy. One isn't going to all of a sudden going to slip under your nose if the other is allowed. I don't really see a problem with letting people plan crimes anyway. Plans aren't exactly any more incriminating, nor any more likely to incite LE to respond, than admissions of crimes already committed, the level of detail gone into being roughly equal.
