zb3 should /nick Alex because he just learned about 160,000 jeopardy questions! I wrote a trivia module the other day that uses jeopardy questions from the last 25 years. I invite you to come check it out!
The channel is #jeopardy on irc.slashnet.org (6667). You can also get there by clicking here (http://widget.mibbit.com/?settings=a27f7346cca1d91393b774f48ad34408&server=irc.slashnet.org&channel=%23jeopardy)
The commands to start and stop trivia are "zb3, starttrivia" and "zb3, stoptrivia". The bot keeps track of your score until it's rebooted.
Known bugs:
Fixed Stopping trivia only works if you stop answering trivia questions. The bot still allows you to answer trivia questions for 15 seconds after trivia has been "stopped" - doing so will UNstop the trivia.
Fixed Trivia can be started in the same channel more than once.
The bot gives hints - sometimes it will give you the entire answer as a hint.
When answering questions that have quotes or parens around the answer, the user MUST include these.
When a user gets a letter of the answer correct, the bot fills in that blank - if the word is for instance "cheese" and you guess "cheeks" and then later guess "adobes" the bot will tell you your current progress after each of these guesses. After the second guess the word is complete (the bot will even tell you "cheese") but nobody will get the points until someone actually says "cheese" - I'm still not sure if this is a bug or a feature.
Since these were all jeopardy questions, it sometimes says something like "in the map seen here..." - since this is IRC, no map is actually provided. The question is unanswerable.
Sometimes there's some HTML in the questions the bot asks.
If you find any other bugs, please let me know. I'm trying my hardest to fix the script.
