I'm trying to find this book for a friend of mine; I'd like to get it for him as a gift. It was published in the late 60's, and the main character's name was Tim(or Timothy) Tate.

Help please?

Any more hints. Like what was the story about or anything you remember about the book.

It's a western. That's all I know about it so far. I'll try to get more details from my friend later.

I just talked to him, and here's what I have so far:
-The main character's name was either Tim or Timothy Tate
-It was published sometime between 1966-1971
-It was a western
-It took place in the 1800's
-It took place out west, but probably not in Texas
-It's about a guy who's trying to rescue his girlfriend from some bandits
-The author is the same guy who wrote the book "Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses"

It's right next door to impossible to find something like this without talking to old men that had a passion for western paperbacks. If you can find a used bookstore with someone like that in it, you've got a shot.

I'll ask a couple people that might have some idea.

Thanks. I've been looking and asking around at flea markets, but haven't had any luck yet.

I think I found it. The title is the same, but it was published 10 years too late. I ordered it, so now I just have to hope it's the right one.
