What percentage of them can actually explain why they're there? I mean, sure, you could say that maybe this guy selectively edited out intelligent sounding people for comedic effect and consistency, but really, if you went down there and asked around, what percentage of people would give you anything more than a blank stare or a half-baked routine speech that they compiled from listening to other people talk about it?

If you think the media is left-wing, than you don't have a fucking clue what left is. Perhaps it's left to facism.
It's very easy to walk up to a common individual on the street and make them look like a fool....For that matter, most of them are fools, that hardly changes the reality of their condition and the events surrounding their suffering.
These videos far more effectively reflect the deprived character and indifference of the producer than the competency of the individuals portrayed therein.

Ugg, I know. I totally support the movement, I just don't support the idiots who taint it. In all fairness, though, it is a bit tricky to try and articulate the national problem in a few short sentences, especially when you're put on the spot like that. I would have mentioned the Iron Triangle issue we're having with interest groups connecting global corporations to the U.S government and the loss of our civil justice system. I would have also mentioned issues with our regressive payroll system and brought forth the question of putting a cap on CEO salaries. Oh, and lets not forget about the role of the Federal Government and the Federal Reserve.
I know why they're protesting and I'm pretty confident everyone else at least has a decent understanding of why they're out there. If you don't, you're lying to yourself. It really doesn't matter if your republican, democrat, or something else. There's a reason for every protest movement that's been going on. Consider it our version of "Rough Music".

in the US, the media is probably split between being socially conservative and slightly socially liberal. the thing all the mainstream media has in common, is that it is very pro-capitalist.

Anyone can go out there and poke fun at the people who are blindly following others just for the sake of doing it. The videos were funny, I'll give ya that.. but I would assume the majority of people there are well informed and know what they are protesting about. It is a comedy show, of course they are going to be trolling.
