So, I got this album a little bit before it's supposed to come out.

I'm a huge M83 fan, I don't follow or care for much electronic or pitchfork-esque music, but, simply put, M83 has always made music that I like a lot.

I think this album kind of sucks. To my ears, it's got this sleazy new-wave aesthetic. I feel like I'm listening to a slightly trippier 80's-era Peter Gabriel or Genesis or some shit. I think it's got something to do with the production of the vocals and the timbres/synth tones he chooses. It's like someone got high and covered Sussudio.

This is not true for all of the tracks, I think some are really enjoyable and sound characteristic of M83, but they are far and few between and their length/overall sound suggests that they're mostly transitional, little interludes between other songs.

I'm pretty bummed.

This was the first M83 album I've listened to, and I didn't think it was bad. Not amazing by any means, but it had it's moments. Midnight City's synth is certainly unique, and Roconte-Moi Une Histoire cool.

M83 are different, some of the older stuff was like yeah what the fuck I need to be on acid for this shit, but overall they're unique and I'd have sex with all the band.

I've been an M83 fan for a couple of years. I can only bring myself to listen to half their new album.

Personally, I enjoyed Saturdays=Youth a whole lot more

i first heard this new single on my local alternative radio... so I knew something was up.. I guess this is what happens when you try to break into the mainstream.. but yea their other albums were great, I guess I will have to check this one out in more length.
