This song is me coming to terms with the real world -- Life as it is, not necessarily how I want it. How you can either let life wear you down to nothing or you can pack up, move and live like you've never been hurt and like life doesn't suck. I see some of my friends now that we're coming to or passing the halfway point in their twenties and I see how many are ready to give up to misery. Obviously the song is about something entirely different and I love that story, but it's always had this other implication to me as well.
