Chrono Trigger

Holy shit is this game amazing. It is probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time. Even just hearing the music brings up an emotional response. Anyone else here play this game?

Yeah, it is an RPG for the SNES. It was published by Square back in 95.

I played some of it on an SNES emulator. It was kickass but I got sidetracked with school so I hadn't had a chance to play it.

But I have a DS now with an R4 and I have Chrono Trigger DS. When I get the time again I'll start playing it.

hahaha. good luck. you'll have a better chance finding gunstar heroes, valkyrie profile, marvel vs capcom 2 or harder yet, a Wii before you'd find Chrono Trigger (SNES). and it'll probably cost you more than all four combined. your best bet is to find a ROM. just make sure you delete it after 24 hours. (*wink?*)

anyhow, great game. I played it nearly to the end three times before finally beating it on my 4th. I beat it the hardcore way too. a friend of mine has considered buying a DS simply for Chrono Trigger DS. I'd eventually have to borrow it if he ever did.

It's not really a remake as much as a port. They've changed very little of the gameplay, the graphics look almost exactly the same as back in the SNES days (<3), and the music is still that same great soundtrack...maybe a little tweak to the sound quality.

They've added a few extra features like an arena where you can raise and battle monsters. That's kind of a throwaway minigame though. It's an interesting diversion for a little while, but meh.

I think they've added an extra dungeon or two and a few more side quests. Also a few animated cut scenes.

I just see it as taking the original and tweaking it a bit to make it better. :)

I have it for DS and it's so so lovely. My batteries died and I left my charger at home so it's getting mailed to me because I need to play Chrono Trigger :( I played a rom of it when I was younger and I only liked Final Fantasy VII more.

I fuckin' LOVE chronotrigger.

Though, I feel ashamed.

I've played through it 2 or 3 times, always getting to the final boss fight with Lavos.

I never beat him any of those times. I would forget about the game and format due to viruses and shit (My dad's computer).
