1) Post sources. Don't just post the article's text, tell us where it came from. Along those lines, Wikipedia is not a news source. If you post something from there, be sure to include a secondary source from an actual news source.

2) Don't just post a link or a copy/paste of the story. If you're posting it, you should at least say something about why you thought it was worth posting.

3) If your posts are not news related, they will be treated as off-topic. More specifically, this forum is for discussion of current events, not discussion of racial issues. If you want to discuss the role of minorities in criminal activities, do it in the humanities forum. Several KKKidiots (who will remain nameless) seem to enjoy posting every story they can find about minorities committing crimes for the sole purpose of discussing the race aspect. Posting stories about minorities committing crimes is fine, but remember this is a news forum, not a race forum.

4) Inaccurate/misleading thread titles are not allowed. If a title is not sufficient, the thread may be closed or the title may be edited. Multiple offenses could lead to infractions.

I'd just like to re-iterate this particular guideline. If you want to post a news story, say something about it. Don't just copy+paste+post. This is a BBS, not a news aggregator - we expect users to actually try to start a conversation with their posts, not just drop it off and leave. This goes for everyone that posts in that forum - if you are habitually making picture+quote posts, please remember to include your own thoughts on the story.

We tolerate a lot of opinions here. More than most forums.

But this forum is a fucking mess, and one of the obvious problems is that a small but annoying minority thinks it's cool to flood the forum with threads about "niggers"

If you want to post a thread about a minority committing a crime, go ahead. But as stated in the original rules thread - you need to do more than simply post a link or a quote with a picture. This forum is for discussing current events, not perpetuating arguments about race. If you want to discuss race issues, do it in humanities.

This means that there's going to be tightened rules around here until the problem posters understand what this forum is actually for.

Make your titles clear as to what your story is about. Save jokes and such for your posts body.
