Firewall/AV

Okay Kaspersky got wise and fixed their system so I now need a new AV/Firewall.

Any suggestions? It has to be free or downloadable/crackable. I'm asking here since I don't know anything about computers but I know Mcafee and Norton get terrible ratings.

Suggest something or tell me what you use personally to protect your pc. thanks

ClamAV is free and quite good.

IPFW is the best firewall you can get. There is a Windows port called WIPFW.

Any AV software you download/crack will be invalid within a few weeks, with the exception of NOD32, they don't really seem to care.

The same night I read this, my cracked Nod32 threw 'bad username/password' errors and wouldn't update. :thumbsdown:

But then I reapplied the crack and reg fix and all was well.

Solution One: (Pirate that shit)
Torrent Nod 3.0 Smart Security Business Edition (it wont expire)
or Torrent Nod 4.0 Smart Security (it's new and might work)

Solution Two: (Free)

Comodo Firewall: It's free and has a very good Firewall protection and works with Vista also.
Avira AV Version 9: The free version is pretty good and it works like a charm. I am using Avira on at least 8 different systems and i am not having any problems whatsoever with it.
