My daily workout consists of 30 minutes of cardio (Machine says I burn 500-520 calories each time), ab work (50ish double crunches), pushups (30), and every other day I'll do either chest and back or bis and tris (about a half hour total).

Eating the same as I normally do (as in the amount that keeps me at the same weight), how much weight can I expect to lose each week?

You can't measure this for exact. Over time, the weight loss will plateau.

Look into Tabatas for weight loss: http://www.rosstraining.com/articles/tabataintervals.html

I'm just trying to get to the shape I was in before I came to college, so what's a realistic weight loss per week? I'm not going for hero here I'm just looking for a reasonable estimate.

I think realistic weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week.

You can lose it quicker, but it either comes from water weight, lean mass (muscle) or is stressing your body in unhealthy ways.

Most people choose to go the quick route, lose 5 lbs., level off, and get discouraged.

Stay away from fad diets. Try to limit bad fats and sugars from artificial sources and drink plenty of water.

I don't really think your machine's Calorie counter is accurate.
500 Calories in 30 minutes is like running 5 miles in 30 minutes. (10 MPH).
That's pretty intense effort.
Maybe you're working that hard, but I'd be surprised to learn it.
50 crunches will take 2 minutes and burn maybe 20 Calories.
30 Pushups may burn 10 Calories.
Arm work is inferior to leg work for Calorie burn, but a half hour of moderate upper body work may burn 250 Calories, and probably less if you're not super setting or have rest periods.
A pound of fat contains 3500 Calories of energy.

I'm gonna guess without changing food intake you might attain a 1 to 2 pound drop per week, like Mullen said.
After a few weeks, it'll probably drop to 0.5 to 1 per week as your body acclimates, like negz was referencing.

^Realistic weight loss of 1 to 2 lbs. a week is gonna be a bitch yet probably your best bet for the long term, any drastic change is going to involve fighting the leptin response, which is brought on because the dumb body thinks its starving. So yeah, don't forget to clean up your diet, don't got to be anal about it but just some simple changes.

I'm in no rush really. just want to lose a few pounds for the summer and whatnot. 1-2 a week sounds fine.

I see no squats mentioned in the OP. You best be joking.

If you really want to lose weight go Caveman diet. That means no processed foods. You only eat and drink what early human civilization would have ate. Vegetables, meat, rice, wheat, nuts, fruits... And you need to buy all of this stuff raw and cook it yourself. Not only will you save money, you still have a diverse menu that expands as much as you can learn how to make it. I'm sick and tired of these shit diets like South Beach and Atkins. The balanced diet they taught every kid in no matter what school they went to is actually the best way to lose weight. It forces your body to slim down to its natural weight. If you exercise on top of that, you'll lose fat while bulking up in muscle. Then, at which point, you can start messing with your diet to determine what kind of body you want.

I did a similar workout routine except I didn't go jogging, I just rode my bike for about 20 minutes. As I recall I lost over 20 pounds in two months.

I'm with Mullen--go on a fast, you can lose lots of weight, uh, fast, but you can do a lot of damage to your body and you'll proabaly gain it all back anyway.

My wife went on a strict diet for her health, not for weight loss, and dropped about 90 pounds over the course of a year.

Or it could be the exact amount the OP stated was going to be done.

Change your diet slightly to have fewer processed foods and more real foods. Eat right and excersize and you'll be lean and mean in no time.
