Kind of strange but I was experiencing ugly negative thoughts again. Decided to do a search and in Google and believe it might be OCD. I do not really want to believe it but I will give some descriptions of what I experience and the truth can be known.
-First memory of a negative experience of this type was when I was a child Age 8 -11?. I remember a negative thought coming into my head. Do not remember what maybe about a love one being hurt or killed. I did not like the thought and it did not feel like my thought. It would not go away and got more intense. The thought finally won out and I was left there sitting defeated and sad.
- Sometimes I get bizarre visuals that flash in my head that I do not like but this is rare.
-Sometimes I get strange horrible thoughts with light visuals which are out of place and have evil undertones. It causes me distress and I try to ignore it and it is a strange fight.
-I go a long while sometimes with out this occurring but eventually it does and when it does it is distressing to say the lease.
-I used to just accept it as not being me few years back in the past and as something which just happened as was alright for a while. The coping skill does not suffice any more.
Do I have OCD?

Go to a shrink, you'll get a more accurate answer than you will off the internet.
EDIT: Then again, a shrink said I have Antisocial Personality Disorder, so I suppose you need to find a good shrink.

Everybody has obsessions and compulsions. Nearly everybody does 'the peg thing' or doesn't like odd numbers, stepping on cracks, touching door handles etc.
It's only when these aspects start to control and change your life that it becomes a disorder. I suppose to answer your question you have to ask yourself if these things are impacting negatively on your life? Are the symptoms you're describing starting to control the way in which you live?
If so, it's quite possible you have OCD.
Then again, you'll get a much more accurate diagnoses from a professional psychiatrist or clinical psychologist than you will from zoklet.
Good luck

I have OCD. When I am depressed I clean, when I am tired but cant sleep I clean, hell randomly without knowing it I clean. I also like to keep things all in line with other stuff (If a table is crooked I will fix it if it doesn't fit with the room.) It really blows and pisses me off a lot.
I had a roommate last semester in college who knew I had OCD and left me a note saying he moved something on my side of the room. I tore the room apart and cleaned it, swept it and organized everything. He lied.

I think what you are experiencing is called depersonalization disorder, DPD. Look it up on wikipedia.

looked it up and it did not seem to match my characteristics. A psychologist would have to identify that one.

This does not sound at all like OCD. I'm not sure how you drew that connection from the source you posted, but almost nothing you've described is characteristic of a disorder like OCD. I'd get yourself checked out if these things are interfering with your life.

OCD has physical characteristics.
The thoughts I get are obsessive in nature and I believe the source I posted mentions thoughts. I was not sure however if what I am experience is the same thing as OCD or a variation of it.
I believe that in order to solve a problem within myself I must first Identify the problem. I can not resolve this until then.

genuinely do have OCD. it controls much of my life. but particularly my eating habits.
docs and shrinks are undecided whether its a non-specific eating disorder or OCD. have settled on OCD due to being dyspraxic.
i dont get "visuals" or anything. just a distinct sense of unease when somethings not fitting to my OCD

I think we all have OCD to some extent; why call it a disorder. I mean we all have our unique wiring and are just animals when it comes down to it. Like my current cat can't lay down without kneading the ground first, but my old one would just go "fuck it" and sleep.

Their are so many disorders and dysfunctions but when they are to a certain extreme that causes them attention.
